Not sure what the rules are for bumping, but I would really like to find a couple people or a shop to get a game or 5 in.

You're 200 miles from me or I'd be down. Though I don't know any rules but 4th by heart. Still trying to catch up.

the place you SHOULD be going when in Phoenix, would be to Battlefoam's store so you can save yourself a bundle on shipping. Even if you bought it there and MAILED it to yourself, it would be cheaper, and a few months faster too.

It has been a long time since i was in PHX, but Game Depot would be fairly easy to get to and caters to all sorts of games.

As someone who lives in AZ it's shockingly hard to find players out here. Granted I'm up north.

I donno if it will align with your plans but I'll be taking a flight out of phoenix on the first at 11:55 PM. If you're still there on that day (you said the last week of august). If you're still around I could drive up early for a game before I catch my flight.

Any idea what part of Phoenix you're going to be in? You've got quite a few shops to get to if you've got transportation.

You have a much better shot of checking and posting here. http://www.wargameraz.com/forums/ for finding a game. I'm sure one or more of the guys will be happy to get in a game or two with you

Morganfreeman, any stores up in Flagstaff or are Prescott Valley/Prescott the closest?

There's a store in Flagstaff but it doesn't have much in the way of a Warhammer / 40k crowd. It's Most of the players there play magic and other collector card games, and while a few have armies of various sizes and quality they're not terribly interested. Prescott is a bit better, but again what's out there (in my experience) suffers from low player interest and extreme difficulty in garnering more.

I donno what it is. Either I'm just the unluckiest git there ever was, or north AZ just isn't very good with regards to finding games / people. Admittedly though I'm not too keen on driving 2 + hours to play a game. It's doubly hard for me because I work graveyard, so if I want to do that I have to get up early (for me) and leave early as well. =/

When is the last time you were down in Prescott? It might surprise you a bit to learn there are a handful of us there and Chris(Press Ganger) is trying to build up the player base. There was a Steamroller Tourney there two weeks ago that had 8 people (5 locals, 2 from Phoenix, and then me). I drive from Black Canyon City (Hour and fifteen roughly) to game there. There's also a Journeyman coming up in September....if you're interested in getting games in and don't mind the drive occasionally and have Facebook check out Game On! Warmahordes and I know there are people who will coordinate to play with you.

Otherwise...you're stuck in a situation a bit like myself. Takes a drive to get anywhere and no locals. :-/

Fair enough, that sounds at least better than what I'm getting. An hour and a half - two hours in the car to go to some sort of event with a decent number of people isn't exactly my idea of a -bad- time, so long as it lines up with my schedule. Could you PM me the info and such? I've got the facebook right there (I barely use facebook and hate it, but I suppose I'll have to here ) but I'd appreciate it just so I can have a better handle for future reference.

Morgan, unfortunately we are not going to connect. I am going to be flying out on the 29th.

I will be staying in the Courtyard Phoenix North (Mariott) which is apparently across the street from the metrocenter mall. I dont have a clue if there is a game store in there.

just did a store find on the GW's website for Phx.

Closest to where you are going to be would be

IMPERIAL OUTPOST GAMES
4920 W THUNDERBIRD ROAD,
GLENDALE, AZ, 85306 US

You can't always trust the GW store finder. I was in phoenix in November and it said there was a store located right next to Metrocenter. I checked it and a couple others that were supposedly close by but they were all gone.

Empire Games in Mesa is a decent place, I've checked it out once myself while on business travel.

Also, pm slaede here, I think he is down in that area now.

Imperial Outpost is open and close to where you are. Great store and owner is very cool. I cannot speak to the 40K players at the store as I haven't played there except for FOW. GW Scottsdale has a few tables too so always a chance to get a game there but further away. The other stores (Game Depot and game empire are really far from your location). However, Imperial Outpost is pretty darn close to where you are staying, less than 15min drive.

I was in the area the first week of August. There is a nice GW store in Scottsdale, which is about 20 mins from the airport. Friendly guy and both times i went in someone was playing a game.

On Dakka he was Eldanar. In our area, he was Lee. R.I.P., Lee Guthrie.
