Its mostly around forced sterilization of subjugated populaces, concentration camps, brain washing, that kind of thing. only they tend to keep it quiet.

still Tau must be purged. As for the Imperium's xenophobia its more a matter of experience. 9/10 times any aliens they ran across tried to kill the humans, so it became a policy of "its extremely unlikely these xenos will be nice, nuke them to be sure, we can't take chances."

I think Necrons are the least douchy, they don't care about who or what gets killed and if they consider someone worthy they will kill them in a worthy fashion.

I think Daemons are cool guy, they kill everyone and doesn't afraid of anything

The Tau don't even kill most times, they kill as a last resort. Which is certainly less douchey than killing people as plan a.

Yeah, this is pretty much my view of them too. On the whole, they want to forcibly assimilate everybody into their Empire and its ideology, they just realise that diplomacy and acts of niceness are an effective tool to assist in that. But there's certainly a dark streak to their fluff.

Though, granted, I will concede that their niceness is probably geniune to some extent, and most of the evilness is probably coming from the leadership.

I have always been put off by the rigid caste system in place that oppresses some and the Ethereal caste is up to more than they say. There is a reason why a caste system is in place, control of the populace by putting the population into their place and taking out their drive to rebel. The whole "greater good" thing is a facade to justify this system. In a sense, the Ethereal caste still shoves their views down the throats of their people and expect them to like it. Communism can work....with a good deal of oppression and the taking of individual rights for the greater good of the Empire, that is the dark streak.

Warhammer 40k has put a dark spin on every race so it isn't about good vs. evil but a war of ideologies. No one is wholly good and no one is wholly evil, not even Chaos so it is pick a side you kind of agree with and kill everyone else. I like that though, to me it adds a bit of realism to it. The world isn't like it is in some heroic fairy tale where the good guy is awesome, nope this is where the good guy just saved you but to do it, he had to let thousands of others die so be thankful for it.

Keep the grim, dark future as it is, its what makes Warhammer 40k so interesting and compelling. A hippie xenos race trying to get along with everyone would just be boring and most likely wiped out pretty quickly.

Well, I mean, the Caste system is like the races of Earth. Physical differences that make the castes better suited for different tasks. The Water caste is thin, long limbed, you wouldn't ask them to fight in war alongside a Shas'la. And the Air caste are quite weak when it comes to anything physical at all and actually hurt in true gravity for too long due to frail bones.

Uh.... don't make the eugenics mistake when talking about fictional aliens. It... really doesn't turn out well.

I'm pretty sure the Tau enslave entire races for the sake of the "Greater Good" I mean everyone knows that saying, and it is in its nature arrogant and condescending.

The Tau have committed countless war crimes just like everyone else in the Grim Dark Future they just have a way of justifying it that we are more familiar with, in a world that is full of Western occupational forces in Eastern countries (which I support btw, just using this as an example)

I think a Xenos hating race. The Tau, even though I like them, seem to be somewhat out of place. On one side we have robotic skeletons wielding gauss weapons, power armoured angry priests on steroids (with plenty of skulls). On the other we have... the Tau. A sort of (sort of, only sort of) peace loving race preferring to peacefully expand but are not afraid to kill those in their way with high tech weaponry that just isn't "shooty". Their guns are powerful but not what an Ork would like. There's power but no POWEEEEEEEEEEER. I don't think my post makes much sense as I don't really know the words to explain, but I feel that the Tau are out of place.

Um...every Tau player I know would like a word with you. What do you call a Riptide, a simple peacekeeper?

The Imperium can be nice to you if you're human, under some circumstances (but certainly not all by a long shot).

The Tau are douchebags. Orks are the most accepting.

They love anything and everyone; love to fight them. There's no political backstabbing, there's no playing favorites, there's no racism, and there's no lies. No matter what race you are, where you live, what your belief system, the color of your skin, ect ect Orks will always treat everyone equally; even other Orks!

They just want to fight, and if you bring them a good fight they'll love you all the more for it.

Orks are very racists. The Blood Axes are less racists, bit they are looked down by other orks. Killing the current warboss if you are a very strong ork promotes you to being the new big boss (if you can handle it). Killing the current warboss if you are a human or an eldar or a kroot promotes you to being stomped to death by the new warboss. Even Ogryn are discriminated against on the ground that they are not green. But I guess some ogryn painted in green could strive in ork society.
