I received a couple of Tau Vehicles in trade for part of a commission. Painted them up to list on Ebay.

All looks pretty good to me except the metallic burst cannon on the Devilfish. Something tells me that ought to be black.

The Chassis on both look great but if your gonna sell it on eBay I would revisit a couple of things
The red lenses need a reflection added to them, compared to the rest it looks a bit flat
Tidy up your white too, it's layered on quite thick and has smudge over. It's really noticeable on the SMS.
The rest of the model is perfect and looks brilliant just those two bits don't seem to match up to the quality of the rest of it.

They look quickly painted by an airbrush and thick sold dabs like from a Chinese toy sweatshop.

Have to agree with this. Sloppy painting, careless assembly. Honestly you'd probably get more for them if you strip the paint and save the buyer the trouble of doing it.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices. |

Unhealthy Competition With Other Legions

I think the orange is good, however they definitely need more detail, a line-wash would even help out quite a lot in this case. Some sloppy white on the missile heads as well.
IMO the OSL is also pretty bad. I am not sure why but this is an increasing trend, the placement, contrast and effect are all very very important. Here is what I see with the OSL.
Intakes glowing -- Why are intakes glowing?
Not Enough Contrast -- The central source of the lighting should be your brightest point, what I see above on the engines and gun looks like 1 or maybe 2 colors just hosed on with an airbrush. this should be 3-4 shades of the same color (IE start with ice blue, continue adding skull white) ideally neatly applied with a brush, so that the source of the light is "The Hottest Point".
How Light Travels -- This is something I see a lot! the light on the gun barrel would not travel like that, if you intend for the source of the light to be the vents or the inside of the barrel on the gun, all of the hard edges are going to create shadows, light will not travel outward onto the top and bottom of the barrel with those hard edges, the "vents" and the inside of the barrel should have the glow effect.
I also tend to think that my war is fought during the day, so in order for the light to travel out onto someone's jacket from a sword, or onto their base from the plasma coil, that would have to be an INSANE light source.
Unfortunately OSL is one of those things that everyone likes, and as a result people tend to over reach it and it takes away from the rest of the model.
I am by no means an expert, and these are just my opinions.

"You are like a son and together we have all but conquered the galaxy. Now the time has come for me to retire to Terra. My work as a soldier is done and now passes to you for I have great tasks to perform in my earthly sanctum. I name you Warmaster and from this day forth all of my armies and generals shall take orders from you as if the words came from mine own mouth. But words of caution I have for you for your brother Primarchs are strong of will, of thought and of action.

I don't see any OSL, or if there is, it's the worst application of it. I just saw a FB post with some horrible OSL, at first I thought it was some weird mistake. This vehicle looks like a quick job that you would see with a commission service. Quality it tabletop but nothing to write home about. I don't understand why people would pay someone to paint something they could do. I would rather play with someone who painted their army gakky than someone who paid for a mediocre job.
