The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all

Did they give the grot gunner rule to the filer that doesn't have the rule but has the rule listed under it's entry?

WOW... there's so much ambiguity in the ork dex I can't believe that they only got one thing changed. Unreal.

Nope, didn't fix the Burna Bommer not having Grot Gunners even though it's the only flier with a Twin-Linked big shoota and the rule is listed under it's entry...

They did fix Conscripts though, or at least clarify they intent.

I hope they fixed the digital version for the relic bike.... Its weapon is listed as just "assault" without the number of shots listed

If you can keep your head, while all about you are losing their's, then you have probably completely misunderstood the situation!

Back then you used to be able to arm Mekboys with Big shootas instead of their stock KMBs. Now they're only able to buy weapons from the Mek weapons part of the armoury which means no more cheap in-built spammy dakka.

But that doesn't really need to errated or faq'd does it? There is no indication that it was not intended as the meks did go through major changes.

The intention for Meks to have big shootas is pretty damn clear from them coming with one in the box. We had this exact same thing with the SM Command Squad and special weapons but of course the poster boys got their toys fixed immediately.

No need to be angry man. I assume you are talking about the burna and loota box, since the new mek kit does not have a big shoota. The loota/burna box came out before this codex, doesn't mean things can't be changed. A lot of kits have extra bits, use it for your boys squads.

I think it's mainly due to the fact that, at least WYSIWYG-wise, the mek models that he owns were already modelled with big shootas are now illegal and therefore need their arms to be hacked off, etc. I understand his frustration, since now with the new book Big Meks can't take burnas which one of my conversions had. At least I can say it counts as a Killsaw, Big shootas are a little bit harder to pull off as a beamy mek weapon...

Not in my codex, it lists:

Special Rules
*Supersonic
*Waaagh! Plane (pg 73)

The rule for Grot Gunner is listed on it's page but it doesn't have the rule itself.

Blitza-bommer has

Special Rules
*Grot Gunner (see opposite)
*Supersonic
*Waaagh! Plane (pg 73)

RAI is obvious but RAW the burna bommer DOES NOT have the Grot Gunner rule.

It's printed right there on the Burna Bommer's page, so tell me again how it does not have it. Go look at any other page in the Codex and you will see that if a rule is spelled out in full, its name is not repeated in the Special Rules bullet points. By your logic, the Warboss does not have Waaagh!, the Weirdboy does not have Waaagh! Energy, the Mek does not have Mekaniaks, Grotsnik does not have One Scalpel Short of a Medpack and Badrukk does not have Goldtoof Armour and Da Rippa. And that's just the HQ section.

Never mind my frustration, although I won't deny it. It has more to do with how the SM always get their wonky wargear options fixed (CSM Chosen, DA Veterans, SM Command) but Orks do not. My real point is that you will not find any other modern plastic kit in GW's line that has an illegal weapon in it. And models drive rules, not the other way around, so Meks (at least in Loota and Burna units) should have access to big shootas.

What a massive update indeed.. Cluster mine based armies won't have to worry about confusion over area terrain anymore.
