Making my own set of 40K rules. I am reading the threads in 40K Proposed Rules to see what I can borrow and steal from. I see people want to pick from the Warlord table. I know one of the things about being able to choose your trait is, a lot of traits will never be taken. So if you want to pick a trait and not roll on it, how much should each trait cost? I haven't played in over 2 years so I don't know nothing about traits.

Can you guys and gals tell me what you think each trait should cost and why? Do you think if you don't want to pay for a trait and roll for it, it should be free then?

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

Well a 12" reroll 1's to shoot bubble should cost more for tau than it does for say, daemons and orks, so there's an issue there. The reverse also applies with the reroll cc hits of 1 bubble.

20000+ points

As niv-mizzet puts it, some Warlord traits can be way better for certain builds and codices. A complete rework would probably be in order if points were to be assigned. If they didn't change anything but add point costs, I believe this would be along the lines of "fair" without being too costly to take:

Personal Traits
Master of Defense - 10 pts
Master of Offense - 25 pts
Master of Maneuver - 25 pts
Legendary Fighter - 50 pts
Tenacity - 50 pts
Immovable Object - 50 pts

Command Traits
Inspiring Presence - 10 pts
Intimidating Presence - 10 pts
The Dust of a Thousand Worlds - 10 pts
Master of the Vanguard - 10 pts
Target Priority - 50 pts
Coordinated Assault - 50 pts

Strategic Traits
Conqueror of Cities - 10 pts
Night Attacker - 50 pts
Master of Ambush - 50 pts
Strategic Genius - 50 pts
Divide to Conquer - 25 pts
Princeps of Deceit - 10 pts

Thanks Farseer Pef, it's something I can start with.
