Heya

Since 7th is basically saying we "Need" to make datasheets for all our terrain pieces, i though it might be fun to come up with some.

Medic wards/hospitals: Simple 6+ FNP
Mechanics shops: Allows a vehicle to repair a immobilized, weapons destroyed, or HP on like a 4 or 5+ instead of firing its weapons
Promethium Depot: Reroll wounds on flamer weapons? the whole thing acts like a bomb mysterious objective at the end of the phase if used as cover.

Anything else fun? im sure some daemonic terrain might be fun too.

And yet another thread is hijacked for Unit to ask for the same advice, receive the same answers and make the same excuses.

Lets try to sort it into subtypes and update your original post with the ones you like (giving credit to the creator).

Area terrain:

Skrapyard- 10" by 10" large terrain piece covered by junked vehicles and weaponry. Provides 5+ cover to any model within its boundries and 4+ cover to any model 25% obscured from the firing model.
Special rule: Salvage- Models within a scrap yard can forgoe their movement or shooting phase to salvage through the scrap to find useful stuff. Roll a D3 and receive one of the following bonus's on your following turn.
1- Twin linked shooting
2- +1 armor save
3- +3" to all movement

Building:

Communications Tower- Models obscured by a communications tower have a 4+ cover save. Every time you succeed at this cover save roll a D6 and on a 1 you loose the benefits of the communications tower special rule.
Special rule: Information is power- Whilst within 2" of a communications tower you gain +1 to reserve rolls and your opponent gets -1 to their reserve rolls. Also, if your opponent uses the interceptor rule on one of your units that arrived from reserves, the unit firing the interceptor shots is at -2 BS.

Warp portal:

*Writhing worldscape: any model within 6'' of the Warp Portal gains a 5+ Invulnerable save, but all movement that starts or ends within 6'' of the Warp Gate counts as dangerous

*Warp Winds: Any Psyker within 6'' of a Warp Gate may choose to add D3 warp charges to any power they attempt to manifest, but during that attempt any doubles cause perils. If rolling on a discipline that would normally peril on doubles, these attempts ALWAYS suffer a perils of the warp.

Knocked-Out Tank:

One of the most enduring images of the 41st Millennium is a mighty war machine of the Adeptus Astartes in ruins. The burnt husk of a Rhino is a near icon of the depressing mortality of the Emperor's Angels of Death. However, Space Marines are a rarity as are their war machines. Leman Russ tanks or Chimeras would more commonly make up the ruins you would see in a Imperial war zone. These rusted hulks can make for good cover in a pinch. Their armor, while have long been torn assunder, may still protect yet. A foolhardy warrior may even garrison these wrecks. While they may seem like a worthwhile makeshift bunker it is quite dangerous to be inside a knocked out vehicle. Rusted, unexploded ammunition proves even more volatile while being rocked, jostled or even impacted by wayward bolter shells. Unburned fuel or unstable exotic power sources could ignite at any given moment after being disturbed. Indeed, most Imperial tomes of warfare advise against using wrecks as bunkers. Still, some unexperienced or foolish junior officers may see these ticking time bombs as salvation while under heavy fire...

Terrain type: Building, Special.

Special Rules: When taking cover saves from a knocked out tank you may save on a 4+. However, you may nominate a single unit up to ten models strong to enter the Tank. The tank counts as an AV11/11/11 building. However, only a 4+ is required for it to explode. It has 3 hull points.

Thought for the day: Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

Bolt Action Germans: ~1200 pts
AOS Stormcast: Just starting.
The Empire : ~60-70 models.

You should probably add fire points to that knocked out tank to represent holes torn in the armor. And i'd also add that you cant assault from inside it since there are no easy to use access points.
