Hey all,

Did i read correctly in the latest Ork codex that Ghazzy goes back in time and is now amassing an even bigger force?

Does this mean a Star Trek style redo on some of the fluff or was that always a thing?
He is going to visit the over fiend of Ocatrius to get his boyz into a massive waaagh.

Its Orks, who cares!!!?

The wilder and crazier it is the better!

I wouldn't read too much into the fluff, for solid answers just use your imagination.

I think we want all the ends tied up neatly in the stories we read, tv shows we watch, and movies we view. This has caused the stagnation of our imaginations as we fail to make the universe our own and use the fiction as a springboard for our own thoughts.

It's a pet peeve of mine when someone complains that a certain plot from a comic wasn't put in a movie or that a TV show went another direction than they felt it should have. Maybe not everything has to be spoon-fed to us as consumers of said material.

Make it up. .02

Sounds badass. I like it. Only Orks would do this, because only ORks are awesome enough as a whole.

Maybe its GW's ace in the hole in case things in the universe go completly bonkers.

If it means that GW pushes forward the timeline a litte bit now that they have time-travel insurance, that's fine by me.

Damn it, now I have to read the fluf fin the codex, to see if Ghaz time travels.

Orks haivng time travel would be awesome. Any other race having time travel would have massive implications on the time line. Orks will just use it to re-fight battles.

You're thinking of Orikan the Diviner, who does indeed travel through time.

In the warp, searching for Marbo

Can't you already technically time travel via the warp? They could end up retconning any event with: Suddenly, a (insert faction here) battle force emerges from the warp. It's the blah blah that was lost in the 43rdM! or something

I hope Ghazzy goes back in time to fight himself to prove that he(future) is better then he(past) is.

I mean, if you are THE ultimate badass, who else would you fight to give yourself a challenge? Yourself that's who.

Things like this make me think: ORKS ARE AWESOME!!! If only they were more competitive, I would love to have an Ork army.

Wouldn't that cause a time paradox and cause Ghaz to no longer exist?

No. Though it's debatable whether teleporting in the blink of an eye could be considered time travel.

Well if something pooped out of the warp in the past, it's already happened.

Interestingly though, they could use that plot device to introduce a new faction from the future.

In the new fluff (which is actually a slight advancement of the old fluff), Ghaz does visit Oktarius post-armegeddon (IIRC after a huge warp jump to get there just as Yarrick and Helbrecht cornered him. Of course, Ghaz sincerely believes it was Gork and Mork's doing) and does recruit some orks there after kicking some tyrannid butt. However, I don't recall any time travel being mentioned.

Orikan the Diviner has the ability to travel through time, yes. In fact, he does this to ensure that his divinations come true, exactly as he said they would.

Like wolf chariots?

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

Check the time stamps, he does indeed go back in time. Possible meaning that gork or possibly mork transported him.

Your blind refusal continues to be a problem.

Oldcron fluff had time travel too, you know.

Time travels are a really bad idea in an universe already full of incongruences like this one.

My copy of Waaagh! Ghazghkull says that he escaped from Yarrick in 189999.M41 and re-appeared in 694999.M41. That's about 168 days after he left. Technically, he did violate causality by moving much faster than light, but he didn't 'travel back in time' in the sense that it's usually used in Sci-Fi.
