So same question as in the Rebel thread but obviously for Imperial "small" ships.

WINterceptor for me. Crazy agile, huge variety of actions, ton of pilots and a damn hoot to fly with.

I've just got a soft spot for Turr Phennir in his TIE Interceptor.

Although, my last game I fielded the TIE Defender for the first time and I could see that becoming a favourite of mine.

However. I'm sure most people will agree that Whisper in his TIE Phantom is is the top Imperial ship now. I've not played with it yet myself, but I think it has a few too many rules for my brain to adjust to and be happy with.

Overall, I would say the Normal TIE Fighter. It's cheap, maneuverable, and cheap. Black squadron with draw their fire makes a cheap pseudo-Biggs, while Howlrunner if just awesome support.

Tie Defender, love the all 3s, love the dial, love the actions, love the upgrade bar. Only complaint is that they used Maarek Stele on the Advanced, because he should have been a Defender pilot.

The closest to unkillable pilot is in an intercepter: Soontir Fel. He hits hard, is more agile than any ship, and super maneuverable. And a bunch of the other pilots are great too.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I am really curious as to why someone picked the Tie Advanced. Big fan of Darth Vader?

I like the interceptors personally.

I really wonder if/how they will fix the Tie Advanced, I feel it's the most overcosted ship in the game, and I have to assume most will agree. Proton Rockets seem like an auto-take for Vader, but I very much doubt we'll ever get an "aces" pack containing something like the Chardian Refit as a modification (an Advanced/Bomber "aces-style" pack would give more options, but would they really do that? Perhaps alongside a Y-wing/Z95 "old school fighter" pack? The ship kind of feels like a waste right now, and it's a shame since it drags down Vader.

Intercepters are by far the best. There is a huge difference in price between them and e-wings, which further shows nonsense.
