Ok so me and a friend has just had a demo game of Dropzone Commander, and we both enjoyed it and think we will invest in the starter..
Now I know my friend wants scourge, and I'm really not interested in UCM (unless I can use them as a point filler for "allies" for Resistance) so just for the narrative I want to start off with the Resistance, now I know the starter is coming soon on the 30th but I was wondering how they play like? and will they be at the same power level as the other factions (as I have a accidental habit of taking the most uncompetitive armies from other games). If anyone know of their rules that is..
My second choice would be PHR after the Resistance project though and was wondering how they play as well, as from what the Event host told me is that due to their slowness, they seem to be more of a faction of precision than anything else..
Also will Resistance get anymore love to the same amount as the other factions?
Cheers to all comments

A lot of the local players are watching the Resistance reveals by Hawk Wargames. Tons of great pics on their facebook, and I think they're getting at least some sort of limited release at GenCon? Really looking forward to seeing them made, the concepts have looked great.
I am really excited about their play-style. It appears to be an interesting mix of leftover high-tech and improvised low-tech (out of which resistance forces can lean more towards one or the other). It should make for a ton of variability in army composition. For instance I imagine that picking Jackson APCs (in Lift-Hawks) with small infantry units will play very differently than packing a ton of infantry into battle-busses (in hovercraft).

I guess I split x 2 starters w/ UR bubby (you each get map/rules/buildings) and he gets the scourge you get the UCM. Save them and buy the Resistance like you want. You can always trade/sell them off later.

Well that is the plan.. plus I'm already selling a shed ton more stuff off form other games, so I should be getting some money to invest pretty soon
I'm liking the look of the Resistance. I've also got everything for PHR and a growing UCM army, so it might be nice to do all the flavours of humanity.
But I need to finish my Shaltari army (for the Gencon tournament soooooon!), then my UCM army and my growing Scourge force before I even think about getting another army.
While I love my UCM and Shaltari I can not wait to get my hand on a few of those to paint. Might even make a small force of them. I would feel a great deal of pleasure taking an M3 Alexander Command Tank to everyone's favorite cybernetic abandonists.
Painting up a Resistance force as browncoats? You have to post some of those pictures when you do that happygolucky. That idea is going to be hard not to steal. Now I keep looking at the Lifthawk dropships, thinking of them going up against the Scourge, and hearing "I'm a leaf on the wind".
The way Resi are looking at the moment, they'll probably be fast but fragile, favouring more of a hit-and-run approach than the outright aggression of the Scourge (who are also fast but squishy).
Apparently their infantry will be very good, representing the fact that they're veterans of a lifetime of guerilla war.
They also differ from the other factions in that they rely on land-based hovercraft rather than dropships to get their guys in (although they do have a dropship unit with the same capacity as the UCM Condor medium dropship)
It might also turn out that you have a sort of quantity/quality dichotomy, either running a force of dozens of lightly-armed technicals or just a few heavier tanks. Then again, with the way DZC is balanced a mix of the two is probably
the best option.
Of course, any real analysis of the Resistance playstyle will have to wait until we get our hands on them.

I already split starter with friend and I preferred the Scourge because of how cool the spider like walkers looks.

For me I wonder what I can pack into those drills? I know technical's can be put in them, but I'm hoping to put some Jacksons into them for a reliable way of getting infantry into buildings..

It's not out of the question; the way Dropzone is designed, vehicles of the same size usually take up the same transport space, and Jacksons are not much different to technicals in size terms.
EDIT: Also you might want to have a look at this video, goes into a lot of detail about the faction

Both videos were really nice. A lot of great background information on the game and I love the look of the plastic starters. The breaching drill looks cool and should help even out the playing field since resistance do not have access to light dropships like the other factions. I like that the cyclone rotors are laser cut etched steel as well. I was initially worried about them being too fragile.
If/When I make a Resistance army I'd probably try to make them look like Falling Skies characters and vehicles. But then any names for squads & characters would be from various sources.
I will also repost the feral commanders in a better size.
He also has posted the UCM, Scourge, PHR, and Shaltari commanders as well. I will throw them all in a spoiler for anyone who is interested. I made sure this time around to use the smaller images.
Spoiler:
UCM:
Scourge:
PHR:
Shaltari:
Edit:
Just saw some comparison pics between resistance and UCM vehicles and figured I would share them. They are from http://twtrb.blogspot.co.uk/ .

Thanks for the scale pics. I love how UCM is all sleek and built for efficiency while the former EAA stuff reeks of decadence and 'bigger and proud of it'.
Sigh. Now I want two different armies of the Resistance. One that utilizes more of the military hardware since those tanks and cyclone copters give me a Neo-Soviet vibe for some reason (god how I wish the Epic Valhallans were not 6mm), and another Resistance that is just hordes of technicals out of Mad Max.
