Hey all, a couple of weeks ago I painted this XV9 Battlesuit as a commission to match a custom cadre color scheme and here is a big ol' image of that all finished. A couple of rough spots here and there with the casting that I didn't perfectly correct, but the photo reveals all those things the eye inevitably misses. Magnetized head and torso to swap out the helmet for a non-commander version if needed. Felt that would be more efficient than magnetizing the weaponry.

Then there is the Cadre Fireblade I painted up awhile ago to match:

He's got a custom sept icon for his forces so that was a fun little detail to add on the cape there. Always a challenge to match something like that but in the end it's a nice touch.

Very nice. I really like the color palette choices for the cape; there is quite a bit more color involved than black/white.

Great color scheme and attention to detail. I really enjoy the look of your Tau and the general style in which they are painted.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Talent right there! Love the work!

Crush your enemies, see them driven before you and to hear the lamentations of the women.

The detail, especially the edging, is stunning. i wish i could do edging like that, sadly my attempts look more like swatches of out of place paint on the edges lol. Fine details with a brush always kill me, probably the cheap brushes i use and maybe my paint isnt thin enough.

Hey thank you, edging is painstaking but really brings out a clean kind of 'mech' look I think. I definitely will recommend investing in a proper high quality brush if you're serious about improving as you practice. There are quite a few choices these days although I always personally stick with the same ones I've used for the last 10+years which are the W&N Series 7 in sizes from 2 to 00. Painting with a proper brush is the cornerstone to getting better with practice.

The edging, as Vineheart said, is absolutely fantastic.

Personally I think those guys on the battlesuit look derpy as all heck.. But that's just my personal opinion, and not even remotely your fault. Great paintjob on that silly robot!
