Hey all!

This is just gonna be my creative outlet so expect to see some random stuff, though mainly some Mordheim and Bretonnians

A few friends and I have decided to start playing Mordheim and this is a perfect opportunity to let my creative juices flow.
What I'm going to be playing is Reiklanders with a Bretonnian theme since the official Bretonnian list doesn't seem so... great.
So wahat I've got so far is this:

So what we've got here from left to right is two warriors with axes and a champion with sword sans shield followed up by three marksmen with longbows
and last but not least the warband captain.

The warriors are made from the Fireforge foot sergeant set and the marksmen are just bog standard Bretonnian peasant archers which I'll probably be
switching out for Fireforge bodies with Perry bros War of the Roses arms once they arrive in the post. The captain is a kit bash from the Bretonnian Knights
of the Realm and Empire Greatsword sets with some greenstuff to boot.

I'm fine tuning my back story for the warband but I expect to be done with it soon.

I'll leave you with a little WIP Mordheim terrain:

Nice work so far. I'd love to see some more photos of the WIP gang with better light. Which figures have you used? I notice some of them have integral bases on them.

@Azazelx
Thanks, the warriors are made from the Fireforge games foot sergeants. I left the integral bases on the crouched over ones so they seem a bit bigger
since the models are slightly smaller than their GW counterparts.

@Warboss_Waaazag
Cheers!

Here's some more pictures, apparently the photos turn out so dark because the background I use is really bright and white so I'll have to see to that. The
bases need a little of work, one of the longbowmen a wash and the warriors their shields but they are pretty much ready for gaming.

Nice work, and the new photos show off your models much more nicely. The middle archer reminds me of Terry Gilliam in Monty Pthon and the Holy Grail.

Their looking great although the painting seems a little fuzzy, the primer perhaps?

@Azazelx
Thanks. You're right, there does seem to be be some resemblance there.

@Grag
Thanks. The camera reveals all sins it seems, they do look a bit better IRL but still a bit grainy. It probably is the primer, either it's getting old or it needs a
good shake, most likely the latter.

Having played a few rounds of Mordheim with my friend I realized that I need to make a few adjustments to what I'm running. I'm switching to running Middenheimers
instead of Reikland so I can get a +1 S bonus and dropping one of the the marksmen and two warriors in favour of swordsmen. The captain and champion are
getting hammers as well, great weapons are definitely not the way to go...

On another similar note here we've got my very WIP Bretonnian army. Over to the bottom right we've got the Knights of the realm with full command and BSB, to the left there's
the men-at-arms and in the back the lowly archers.

I'm expecting a package of Fireforge Teutonic knights and Perry War of the Roses miniatures which should help me get
the army up to around 1800 points. With them added the host would include two 9 strong units of Knights of the realm (one with the BSB), two 39 strong units of men-at-arms
and four ten strong units of bowmen. All that would be missing are two damsels to go with the men-at-arms.

And here's some pics of the Knight of the Realm Gallant and knight... and two boring GW men-at-arms, not too fond of the cast for them though.

I'm running with a simple paint style for the knights to make them look a little uniform and easier to paint. I will however paint their shields with different heraldry to mix it up a bit... maybe. Fans of Game of Thrones might recognize the mark on the men-at-arms' shields.

Cheers for the kind comments guys!

Here's another update for you all. Been working on my Mordheim terrain and I've got four pieces ready for priming and painting. What's still in the works is a raised platform accompanied by two ramps, and some more buildings and platforms that are still being brainstormed.

Here we've got the pieces:

The most ruinous of the ruins

The chapel that started as a normal house but I c***ed up with the measurements so the windows ended up way too high.

Soon as I noticed that the measurements were off for the chapel I managed to save this building just in time since I hadn't yet glued in the floors. In hindsight I feel that it looks
better with the raised bottom floor, adds some much needed height. This building is also intentionally just as tall as the opening to the tower so characters can jump from the roof into the tower, adds a bit of tension to a game.

The slate rooves were a pain to put together but I feel that in the end it was worth the effort.

And last and least we have a bit of wall for cover.

Any ideas on what I should build next? All ideas welcome.

Yo guys!

Been working a bit on my Mordheim warband.

First up we've got the new archers that IMHO have much more character.

Next the new warband captain, I intended to use a pair of WHFB Empire arms for him but I'm having second thoughts about that.

They look slightly oversized compared to the arms from the Fireforge kits, right arm is from the Teutonic knights set the rest is from the Teutonic infantry set.
Might look good to cut the arms off at the elbow and stick them together so he has the sleeves, or maybe just do it with GS.

Been working on my war host as well however, I managed to paint two horses and a musician.

The more detailed of the horses is meant for the Bretonnian lord.

And also a pegasus sans knight which was a pain in the to paint.

Next on the list is men-at -arms built from Perry War of the Roses and Fireforge foot sergeants.

Cheers for having a looksie.

The terrain looks great - is it entirely made of card?

I also like the work you're doing with the rest of the warband. The colour scheme is quite effective, and I'm liking the look of those FireForge figures as well (they're on my "to buy one day" list).

@Azazelx Cheers man. The terrain is made from card, coffee stirrers and the all-mighty hot glue gun. The stirrers are are great to use as paneling and even floors if you've got enough of them, also very useful for ladders and walkways. I'll show some pics soon as the pic hosting website is finished with their maintenance, this is also the reason why all the pics are currently shown as broken links.

Yay! Pics are working again and with them comes a wee update.

So to begin with is a Bretonnian knight.

Here are some trees and walkways/ ladders.

The trees are just the normal GW trees that I've had lying around for a long time and stuck to cardboard bases that are awaiting a lick of pain then they'll be done.

Here is the pimped version of the Mordheim warband. From left to right we've got two marksmen with longbows, champion with mace, captain with mace and two swordsmen.

To round off this update I found some old GW oriental figs in the attic that I had completely forgotten about.

Thanks for having a looksie.

@Brother Michael, Thanks!
I was talking Mordheim terms where it is an enormous loss to not swing first. In WHFB terms I suppose a GW would be more useful since you actually get a chance to hit when you've got living troops. XD

@Warboss_Waaazag, Cheers man.

And you use cardboard for your scenery? Will it not bend easily? But they really look fantastic though!

Yo guys!

@Leviathus: Cheers man! The buildings are made from double-corrugated cardboard so they are quite sturdy. The top of the tower building however is made from thin card but warping shouldn't be a problem since its reinforced with wooden coffee stirrers... I hope.

Not been up to much lately hobby-wise but a small package of reinforcements did arrive for my Bretonnians.

It contains 20 of the old Bretonnian archers and a number of Knights. I spent the weekend cleaning up the archers and was going to upload a picture of the models after I had primed them but...

It'll be a few days before these are ready for priming again, and that time with a better can of spray-paint. I've also been cleaning up some Firforge foot sergeants for use as men-at-arms. Three done, 'bout 42 left to go... Going to be running them in 50-strong units ten ranks wide and five deep with full command and a damsel.

And to finish off here's a pic of the old and new Bretonnian knights side-by-side. Dunno which I prefer, both look really cool though.

Cheers for looking and next update should hopefully be more interesting.
