Hey Dakka, so now the Tau are nearly finished I am looking to do a fluffy Semi Competitve list at my FLGS which is also capable of winning games, I am quite drawn to Iron Warriors but also love the look of the Chaos Raptors models, so wanted to do a list that would be very tough and hard to kill, let me know what you guys think.

HQ:

Chaos Lord 130
VoTLW, Mark Of Nurgle, Power Axe, Aura of Dark Glory, Jump Pack

Troops:

8 Chaos Space Marines 183
Mark of Nurgle, Meltagun, Rhino

Would like to keep the Raptors and the mech theme, all other comments appreciated.

Whoops... there doesn't seem to be anything here.

Really doesn't make me think Iron Warriors when I look at that list.

Sure you got some tanks and a unit of Havocs but that's really it.

Defilers=classic iron warriors! 72" battle cannon! But people say it sucks now with the point increase.

Yeah at this points level whilst Defilers fit into the theme and they can be good, they're pretty damn expensive and I can't really make good use of them in 1K, Vindicators are dirt cheap and effective and still fit in fairly well, the only other alternative really would be to remove the Lord and his squad and take another vehicle and a Warpsmith but I'm not sure if I want to drop the Raptors and what the replacement would be.

It's your army and your interpretation of the fluff, you can make the army any way you want it.

I run raptors and bikes in my Iron Warriors. How do you expect to storm a breach if you don't have some speed.
