For a young American who watched a lot of GI Joe, seeing Tze'elim in person is pretty spectacular. It's a life-sized mock up of a city straight out of any Arab Muslim country in the Middle East, complete with a mosque. And, it's teeming with terrorists (usually cute 18-20 year old Israeli girls) trained to fight like Hezbollah or Hamas.
Thankfully Vice doesn't show too much about our tactics, techniques, and procedures, but it's interesting to see a little bit about the types of general techniques we use in urban combat. I have a few critiques of the current method, mainly that IDF troops disproportionately expose themselves in overwatch positions (they should be sitting farther back into the rooms, sacrificing a bit of field of view for concealment) and don't carry enough grenades. That said, it seems to be working fairly well.
Anyway, enjoy!
