In the HH series many of the characters carry personalised arms which have been named.

For example, Horus' mace is called Worldbreaker and the Lion has twin swords called Hope and Despair.

I would like to build a list of weapons with names, so please add what you know.

I have to side with Ser Sandor Clegane when it comes to giving your war-gear names.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

The Horus Heresy is a time of Legends.
Maybe Treat it like Artus and Excalibur.
Myths. Gear that may or may not have certain unusual attributes. Relics.

Plus the whole game is filled with these things. Remember drachnyen ? Holy Handgranade of Antioch ?

And the Hound is a living legend in his own time (and his brother, The-Mountain-Who-Rides, is an even greater living legend).

And the Hound thinks men who name their swords are c*nts.

To each his own. Anyway, do you know of more names?

Forgebreaker was the hammer carried by Perturabo.

Corax had the Raven's Talons, a pair of Lightning Claws.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Mortarion carries the Manreaper, a huge scythe, and some kind of energy pistol called "the Lantern".

Did it have a name?

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

Mortarion:
The Lantern, "a brass-coloured pistol created by the Shenlongi and was capable of firing powerful energy blasts that disintegrated living beings.
Rather then sully his Manreaper with the blood of the Jorgall Xenos, Mortation instead made extensive use of the Lantern to kill his enemies on their world cylinder ship" -Lexicanum

Manreaper, a giant power scythe over a foot taller than Mortarion. Since he has turned to chaos he dipped its blade in the throne of nurgle making it a powerful poisoned weapon.

Magnus:
Doesn't have any signature weapons but has his Book of Magnus and Seer Stones which are focuses of his power that amplify his knowledge, divination powers, and offense magical capabilities.

Angron:
Gorefather and Gorechild, a pair of chainaxes. Once he ascended to daemonhood he left them behind. Not sure what happened to Gorefather but Kharn the Betrayer now has the Gorechild. Angron was forged a giant deamon broad-sword by the name of the Black Blade, but it was shattered by some Grey Knights.

That's all I have time for now, gotta go to work. Hope that helped!

Kurze wins the coolness award for weapon names.

Angron wrecked both Gorechild and Gorefather digging himself out of a huge pile of rubble after a building gets exploded on top of him. Kharn had Gorechild repaired using components from both weapons, there wasn't much left of Gorefather and they salvaged as many of the chain teeth from both weapons as they could.
