Hi guys,

Checkout my video batrep: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bexYY7swYfI

This is a practice game for a small tournament coming up in September. I'm using a Trog and bastilidon for something different.

Let me know what you guys think!

Thanks,
Crispy

I really enjoyed this, and from what I can see your army is very nicely painted. How are you finding the trog in general?

Thanks dude :-).

I like the trog. You need to get him into a flank or use him as a support monster. Probably the best thing he's done for me is get a flank charge on 20 halberd khorne warriors and managed to kill them.

Worst performance was when he died instantly from two wild riders, turn two.

The ability to throw direct dmg and magic missiles from him is also really handy and a miscast isn't doing to do too much to him, unlike a skink priest on foot with only two wounds.

Enjoyed the report!! As a fellow lizardmen player it was nice to see a different style list. I am loving the idea of lore of metal on the slann. How has that worked for you?

Also how do you find lore of shadows on the slaan if you have any experience with it? And finally, how do you think lizards fare against the new wood elves?

Lore of metal is OK so far in my testing games. I feel that it doesn't really synergize well with lizardmen though, just because you have a scaly skin sve and you have low numbers of fighty combat troops that you'd normally want to buff the I of or bring back to life etc. So life or light is better IMO. If you're running lots of skinks though I can see how glittering robes could be real handy along with enchanted blades.

The lizardmen army I run which is mostly monsters with skink skirmishers and a bunker of saurus plays very similar to WoodElves. so currently I'm finding myself outmatched in pretty much every phase, except occasionally magic haha. My friend doesn't really run your average WoodElf list either, its quite fighty and includes durthu and the sisters of twilight on a dragon with 3 units of 5 wild riders. For lizardmen its extremely hard for you to deal with that many fast moving, hard hitting targets that are on your flanks turn 1 and then into you turn two.

I'm finding that my star units are skink skirmishers (even against true flight arrows), stegadons and our characters (gor-rok, old blood, skar-vets (tooled for survivability)). If you can survive the initial charge you tend to grind these guys out (except the sisters and durthu). For the sisters I would probably aim to either bog them down against a unit of saurus or an ancient steg.

I don't run shadow generally so I can't add any insight. I'll aim to run it in an up coming battle report and let you know the link. So you can see how it goes.

Anyways those are my thoughts

Nice report, well done.

As for lores, Life is all around great, extra wounds and dwellers below will break some armies in 1200pts.
