Mistakes printed in Games Workshop publications have been a gripe of mine for quite some time. While reading the new Orks Codex, however, I was pushed to finally do something about it... Hence this thread.

At around $80 (Australian) for a single Codex, I believe typos and mistakes are unacceptable. The frequency and severity of the flaws that make it through to the final the product is painful.

I love 40K. I also enjoy correct grammar, spelling and punctuation. Why, with such a hefty price tag, do GW publications suffer from sloppy editing? I can forgive the occasional slip up. Depending on the setting my forgiveness increases. Here on these boards I expect typos. I fall victim to wayward auto-corrects. Also, we are not being paid for this and our posts are not being edited before publication. I self-edit as much as possible and still mistakes slip through. (I wouldn't be suprised is one or more are found in this post.) But GW should be paying professional editors.

So, I propose that this thread be a bit of a name and shame section. We name the publication (e.g. "Codex: Orks") and the mistake, including (maybe) the page number.

What do people think?

Not really a typo, but more of a series of formatting errors in Codex Space Marines seems to have lead to book breaks rather than page breaks being added - this has meant that a number of different coloured marines have their own codex rather than being part of the Space Marine codex...

I think you need a new hobby, cause if you're going around listing all the typos in a over priced rule book, you clearly have too much time on your hands.

It does seem kind of ridiculous for there to be these types of typos. Did they not proof read their work? I guess not and given the price of their product I would at least like proper spelling.

Codex: Orks, page 26: "...and was considered a dead world be the Imperium." Then, same page: "...as they as blasted each other..."

Indeed. The quality of the books is rather poor in multiple ways. You'd think for the price they could hire some really excellent proofreader/editors to go over these things.

Admittedly, I only have the digital codex, but in my copy of Codex: Space Wolves, Njal's Staff of the Stormcaller only has a Strength of 2
