So, we all know Contemptor Dreadnoughts look awesome, but, as a Blood Angel player, my problem is, for me, they suck. They have identical weapon options and armor to a normal Furioso, and cost 50 points more for fleet, a weak force field, and one LESS weapon skill .
I still want to use the models though, so I'm just using them as normal Furiosos, because let's be real, the GW Furioso model does NOT look like it has armor 13, when compared to Ironclad Dreads and Contemptors.

So, here's the first one I cranked out, a Contemptor Librarian conversion I just finished:

I got the halberd from an old figure from the Inquisitor game (power armored demon hunter chick), added a book from a dark angels land speeder, a shield from some old empire fantasy sprue, part of the normal librarian furioso chest plate, the skull things on the legs are from vengeance weapon batteries, and the chest banner is from a land raider kit (I heated it up with a heat gun to bend it around the torso).

Nice conversion, legion-brother! A dynamic dread/psyker, I especially like the book on the shoulders, the writings look pretty good. Is that dice on the base for hull points?

Thanks! and totally, I wound / hull point dice all my models ever since 6th ed dropped and the number of multi-wound / hp models I'd have to keep track of per list went from one or two to like six, haha

i took one hand and left off the fingers (used some greenstuff to fill in the sockets) and in the center of the hand i attached the spear from a PP plastic centurion i had sitting in my bits box

I saw the thread title and just started thinking "Oh, please be gorgeous" and I was not disappointed! That's a lovely shade of red, and much more grounded than a lot of Blood Angels schemes. Nice conversion work too.

Thanks man! As well as my lousy cell phone camera could capture it. Womp womp. I shade my red up from black, rather than just slathering on bright red and highlighting it. I need my models to look like something that's actually fighting in a war. It also makes all the ornate armor flourishes stand out more, so you end up with an army that is still unmistakably Blood Angels, but quite a bit more sinister looking.

Looks awesome, real nice pose and a beautiful shade of red. I can't help but feel painting the head blue, would convince it that it is a librarian.

I've seen people paint their mortis pattern dreadnoughts (that blood angels can't even take!) with blue helmets to make em look like devastator marines, so no go on that one for me!

Or maybe the a gold helmet and the 'hood' over the helmet and the part that the eagle is mounted on in blue to make it seem a bit more like a Librarian?

I mean this is me just nitpicking, and it is a stunning looking model, and I'd love to see more of your Angels?

Thanks man, here's my gallery. It doesn't have much in it atm, even though my Blood Angels collection is pretty huge...
I'm mostly waiting on getting a camera better than my cell phone before I do any srs picture taking, ya know?

Very nice. The only thing I would have done different would have been to take the skeleton "things" on the legs and try to carve into the resin a bit so they didnt stick out so much, maybe about halfway into the leg?

Otherwise, very good idea. Makes me want to go back to mine and strip and rebuild it. =D
