From the 5th Ed Dark Eldar Rulebook, pg. 22: "The Haemonculi stronghold known as the Tower of Flesh is created... The renegade Space Marine Fabius Bile is tutored in the dark arts within its blood-slicked walls."

But WHY? Has any fluff ever explained this? The DE have no love for any of the "lesser" races, Chaos worshiping humans and Astartes no more than the rest. Also, Bile is heavily connected with worshipers of Slaanesh (the Great Enemy of all Eldar), who the Dark Eldar hate and fear. Even if the Dark Eldar don't know that, or don't care, why would the Haemonculi share their prized craft with an outsider, one who they view as an inferior being, and a potentially dangerous enemy? It just doesn't make much sense to me.

He was a curiosity? Maybe they were entertained by the idea of one of the lesser races who showed some talent or appreciation for their craft?
Hell maybe he impressed them, his new men are based off of reverse engineered Primarch genetic information afterall.

Plus if I remember rightly, The Emperor's Children don't much like Fabius Bile anymore and he has never shown an interest in the Chaos gods beyond furthering his research.

And by the mighty axe of Khorne we cut open the world for them!

I've always assumed that Fabius paid them.

Fabius is pretty wealthy in terms of slaves, so yeah he probably has the wealth, influence and time to get some tutoring with the haemonculi.
I can't really get behind that bit of fluff, I dont see fabius ego being able to cope with tutoring from anyone.

I knew I'd read about this somewhere. In Fabius Bile's Warlords of the Dark Millennium they expand upon this.

I'm not sure what the rules are about posting full passages of fluff so I'll just paraphrase:

Basically Bile was captured by a Dark Eldar raid. He impressed the Haemonculli with his "improvisational" torture methods, He so impressed the Coven of the Thirteen Scars that they invited him to Commorragh as a guest rather than a victim.
He even apparently assisted in the creation of the Tower of Flesh and "Without Bile’s elixirs and the runes he carved into the fleshy walls of the mobile fortress, the sentient tower may not have lived more than a few days, but it lives on still..."

According to this, apparently Fabius realises that no greater honour has been bestowed on one of the lesser races and he puts the lessons to good use.

Yeah Fabulous Bill might be from the Emperor's Children but he does not worship slanesh, he might not even worship chaos. He just likes screwing around.

Semi aligning with chaos just let's him use it when he needs it.

Not full on chaos but he,s never gonna be a impirial friend. Even a chaos legion did not like his experiments so you have to PR pretty messed up for that!

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.

Because he knew a lot of stuff that they didn't, and his particular brand of malevolent sadism really impressed the BDSM Elves.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

It is also fun to note that, like the Haemonculi, Fabius Bile isn't a member of the original race any more. I think he jives with their flesh craft and bio-art. He is also, the 1. The one guy who did. Space Marines are simply something Eldar or Dark Eldar cannot recreate but Fabius Bile can get damn close. that is worth a visit.
