I played 1 game of Battlefleet Gothic back in 40k 3rd ed at the FLGS, and I loved it. I've been wanting to build up a couple fleets to share with friends for a long time now, but the minis have become very scarce and/or expensive to acquire. That said, are there any companies that make decent stand-in models that could be used in BFG?

Also have a SM fleet all scratchbuilds as well. Thing to remember about bfg is that in terms of imperial equipment both sm & imperial navy it's so old it can look unique. Chaos has been mutated, modified, & field repaired so same there. And orks... well you can just go crazy there.
