There is another thread about conversions, however I thought it would be good to have one for alternate models as well.

So if you know of a place to get whole models, parts of a model and so on, post a link here for them.

I can only imagine assassins will be the new Marbo in terms of many players having their own ones, I know I certainly will.

My only imput thus far is:

Vindicare Sniper Rifle:

Spoiler:

http://victoriaminiatures.highwire.com/product/sniper-rifles-x5 - I will be using these personally. They look great in person.

Random Sword ladies (for any of the 4 Assassins) :

Spoiler:

http://www.titan-forge.com/sci-fi_miniatures_demon_slayers_demon_assassin_squad - Aside from the bare chest (one doesnt have one) these may be of use.

But anyways, if we all pitch in we may see some awesome alternate models for these assassins.

Uhm...those ladies' breasts looks really weird...they kinda "shoot" forward and stand up straight. Weird.

Yea, id go for the fully clothed one and put a more normal head on that thing. But yea agreed.

The deathmarks could work. Depends on the army though.

+1 Have those sniper rifles on my neophytes. Really looks nice.

Those are sweet-looking sniper rifles! To me, Vindicare has the most 'style' amongst the assassins. And a sniper rifle that covers the whole table helps too.

I agree, although im thinking I may just make all of them!

The sniper rifles I actually got about 1 week ago, because I wanted to get free shipping. I ended up having a use for them when I read about the assassins yesterday.

Just need more bits and ideas to finish the job now for all 4.

Would be interesting to see how you'd make a Vindicare fit in to your army theme, looks-wise

Last year they went oop for the 2nd time in their history when Mega minis folded, but they will surely be back soon since Mega's lines were sold to other companies.

The original not-assasin models from Demonblade games, circa mid 90's. Sculpted by Bobby Jackson for the "Shockforce" games, which contained alot of not-GW miniatures

Not the most amazing figures (though in person they're a bit better than the pictured paintjobs would suggest), but they've always been cheap (3-5 bucks each).

I am going to take a Old metal necron Pariah(if I can get my hands on a few, let me know ^^). File down the necron symbols. Then I just need to find a suitable headswap and that is going to be my culexus.

The only other one I want to make is a Callidus and I am sure there are plenty of models for that one......just need to find them. Was gonna look at infinity but I am afraid that the proportions would look weird.

Not to be cheeky, but for Callidus, the ones what shoot up with stuff that can turn them into a gretchin according to the dataslate, I would argue that you can make a strong fluff argument for proportions being off.

That Sniper Rifle is huge, and her legs are sickly long. Did GW design this

The quality looks good, but im not a fan personally. Definately could work though.

Those old school models work. They actually look like they where made for the purpose haha.

She's proportionately accurate, though, for a female. Most of a woman's height (60%, iirc) is in their legs, as opposed to a man, who is (roughly) 50% legs, 50% torso/head. My numbers may be off, it's been over two decades since I was last in an art class, but, generally speaking, a woman's torso is comparatively shorter and more compact, as part of her overall height, than her legs, compared to a man, who has a more-equal distribution of legs-to-torso height.

And good sniper rifles are always large. Longer barrel makes for greater accuracy at longer ranges. More spin on the bullet.

I see women every day. Thats not accurate. Also, im a male with long legs (over 6 foot tall?). Even I dont look like that.

And that thing is chunky and huge. If you like fantasy style stuff, its fine I guess. As I said before, not my taste in both pose and appearance.

Its all personal opinion really. At the end of the day, it works fine for the model in question!

Thats a really cool helmet on that dude.

Anvil quality is pretty good, I have a fair few of their human models and im never dissapointed in the quality. I wonder if their attack dogs would work for the combat assassin haha

Then you need to look closer. See where her thighs end and her torso begins. Women are not 50% legs/50% everything else. As a male with long legs at 6', your legs should be 3' long and your torso/head the other 3' (incidentally, your outspread arms, fingertips-to-fingertips, should also equal your height).

It has nothing to do with total height, it's body proportions. The "average" person is seven and one-half heads high, while an "ideal" person (artistically speaking) is eight heads high. That particular image has her at eight-and-a-half heads high ("heroic" proportions, in the artistic sense), with her legs 5 "heads" high, the remaining 3 and a half being her torso and her head. Take an image of... anyone, really, just standing there. Use pictures of regular people, runway models, athletes, whatever. You will see that the proportions generally hold true, though there will be some slight variance between individuals to some degree (because few people have ideal body shapes or proportions).

Proportions do change with age, however. Young children, for example, have larger heads, compared to the rest of their body, than tween-aged or teen-aged children, who are both closer (though not identical) to adults in proportion.

My legs are definitely longer. I sit next to friend who are nearly a foot shorter and are the same height sitting. My height is in my legs. My legs are over half my height. I havent checked since I was 18 though (2 years ago).

Maybe im munted, who knows.

Still think the model looks wackey, and im used to truescale historic models.

That's possible, you might have body proportions outside the norm. Or your friend does. Maybe they have an unusually-long torso?

Well one of my friends has a long torso. When we where 16 my legs where far longer than his, but his torso was far longer. Standing I was taller, sitting he was. But other than that, everyone else (now that I think about it) follows the norms you posted earlier.

Actually it is. I'm 6'5" yet my 5'2" midget of a best friend has longer legs as a proportion of her overall height than I do. Women do not have the same proportions as men.

I didnt say they did, I just disagree that the miniature looks normal.

Also when looking at my leg to body height ratio how much longer my legs are than most people, and I still dont look like that etc. Like very few cars, planes and so on can accommodate my legs long.

But this is all irrelevant to the thread.

Oh, when it comes to public transport and airplanes, the design policy is "one size fits none". I'm only 5'6" and also cannot comfortably fit my legs under the seat on an airplane.

Well, since us backers haven't even gotten our models yet, wait until they are released to the shop.
