And I think the final nail in the coffin in my resistance to collecting Tohaa... out of interest, what is the weird yellow thing on the female Tohaa's arm?

Are there any other upcoming / unreleased Tohaa models that have been shown other than these? Like, any hitting in the next few months?

Thanks in advance . I trolled the last 10 pages or so of this thread but it's all a little hard to keep track of!

It's actually entirely possible.

As of this point, it is anyone's guess. I'm hazarding a guess for March or April of 2014--depending on whether they do the double box route or not.

RiTides: There will probably be a new Tohaa release for September/October. Haphazard guess is that it will be a blister.
There is an alternate SpecOps that will be coming with the "Dire Foes" sets(Shasvastii v. Tohaa in this case).

Also the first model in your image is Yu Jing not Tohaa.

Ah, thanks! So the ones shown are the only things there have been pics of? I thought for Sept/Oct release, pics would have to be out already.

For "Dire Foes" you have to buy a 2-faction box set to get the Tohaa? I guess I may be interested in splitting one with someone at some point, then

As you may have discerned, I am getting interested in Tohaa once again! I need to do some selling first, but then I may pick some up. The guys at my FLGS are playing again, and since I'm dropping warmachine I want to have a skirmish game I can play against folks there.

Yeah, the ones that we have pictures of from GenCon are probably going to be out at the middle of this month.

Peter: As we all know, Christmas is that mystical time of year when the ghost of Jesus rises from the grave to feast on the flesh of the living! So we all sing Christmas Carols to lull him back to sleep.
Bob: Outrageous, How dare he say such blasphemy. I've got to do something.
Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.
Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor.

March/April(+1) is longer than I'd like but understandable. Ideally it'll be a twin box or a posable kit so that we can play with it to avoid doubles.

They still try to make two Gecko fit in one box, so it will take some time.

So, new Mormaers, eh? They needed at least another sculpt anyway, glad to see them getting some more units.

Didn't someone say there was going to be some kind of special scenarios with the 'Dire foes' boxes with the 2 characters against each other? If so I guess there will be a lot of trades and swaps going on with those guys.

IIRC, they each come with 2 spec ops and a civilian. The box will include a scenario involving all 3.

I'm really interested to see how they will manage this. Specially when everybody with the Artbook one already knows that the Anaconda and Gecko are more or less the same thing, and that the scale comparison image just contradicts the size shown in the designs.

And now something completely different:

Greetings.

I'm Carlos from Corvus Belli.

We have something to communicate.

There was a typo in an internal file regarding the prices fo the latest releases.

The website post of the ALEPH miniature:

Atalanta, Non Comissioned Officer Of The Âgema

Ref. 280834-0434

Was listed with an incorrect price for a few days. Once the typo was foudn, checked and corrected we can communicate that the correct price is 11,25€

We sincerely apologise for all the inconveniences that this mistake could have caused to you.

Have a nice day.

I don't have the Artbook yet, so I can't comment on that, but the scale shot we've seen certainly makes it seem like "2 In A Box" is a distinct possibility, if not assured, for Geckos!

Oooh yeah, HMG Mormaer, wee lad will look like a wee tank. I want one.

And very nice having a price drop in Atalanta, it was more expensive than usual. This price is OK.

Quoting both for easier answer.

Overall I am clueless on how they will do it, even if the scale shot is correct the task is great, still Bostria said they are trying to fit two in the box.

The scale shot are two different diagrams, one on page 70 were Iguana and Gecko base bodies are shown next to each other,Gecko there seems to be a head shorter than Iguana, the second on page 72 is a scale shot were Gecko is shown to be waist high to Iguana which is more in fit with its description.

Angel snuck this in as part of his "Step by Step" for Penthesilea that he is painting for Feast of Blades.

So it looks like they kept Nesaie's ridiculous hair. Sad.

The other model looks to be either a Tohaa Clipsos or Gao-Rael.
Actually I take that back. I have no clue what in the world the other is as the base itself is just a blank, slotless base.

Basically the concept art had her with the GoGo Marlene "double huge pigtails".

Which puts Nesaie as opposing in terms of the visual aesthetic of the Steel Phalanx as the Myrmidon Hacker in the starter box.

Apparently Nesaie has been allowed some additional freedoms - or Aleph feels she presents better that way?

Or that CB feels they need to add more anime nonsense to the Steel Phalanx range, which was doing just fine without it.

Seriously though, people were complaining that Atalanta does not look "sexy enough" over on the official forums when she got shown.

Tin foil hats...tin foil hats...

But yeah, that might be part of it too - but then, I'm not sure everyone interested in Infinity for its Anime stylings would classify that as "nonsense".

You can have anime stylings without ruining a perfectly good aesthetic.

Look at the Myrmidons(Officer, boxed set and Spitfire) and Thorakitai from the Steel Phalanx boxed set.
They match with all the Myrmidon characters, even Phoenix with his Chuck Norris beard and braid.

Then look at the Myrmidon Hacker. That is what is going to be happening with Nesaie and her stupid hair.

Then there really isn't all that much to discuss at the moment, I think. The art book is shipping out in the UK/Europe and The Warstore should have theirs soon(the printers mislabeled the shipment and it got stuck in customs over Labor Day) and most of the good art(IGUANA GECKO!) has been seen.

It is primarily speculation about what the other two release slots for September will be. Probably something PanO(Stephen Rao springs to mind) and Tohaa(Gao-Rael double blister of Boarding Shotgun/Combi Rifle or another Clipsos Infiltrator maybe).

What's wrong with the hacker? Well except the hair is weirdly sculpted and looks blocky.

The skirt on Atlanta is pretty out of place even though it's "Greek" looking. I think CB missed an opportunity to put optics on the tip of the spotbot's bunny ears. So it can peek over walls without exposing itself kind of like trench binoculars from WW1.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. From the concept sketches the Iguana and Gecko share the same basic torso from the neck-ring down to about mid-thigh but the Iguana has a very tall head/neck and is digitigrade with much longer legs. That actually fits the scale comparison diagram surprisingly well.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Directly superimposed:

Different legs, slightly longer arms and a head that sticks out above the neck ring rather than being surrounded by it. The torso itself is the same size, or at least it's within about 10%.

IJW, I'm aware of that. However my point is when you look at pages 126 and 127, that's the Anaconda section. There you can see it clearly, it's not only that the early designs show it looks like a Gecko, but designers put it clearly with a "Anaconda/Gecko base body" tag too . Also when you compare the Anaconda and Gecko designs you realize they're both almost the same.

Then we have the Anaconda miniature, that despite no one has put any comparison pictures of his Anaconda model assembled yet, the official picture suggests it's as big as the old TAG models at least.

I think the better comparison would be to look at the Iguana Operator and see how it fits into the Gecko.

When we first started hearing about the Gecko's design process at Infinity Week this year there was mention of the Gecko and Iguana Operator shared components.
