Just an idea for the next Blood Angels Codex, why not instead of having Sanguinary Priests be ICs which are three to an Elites slot, have them as an upgrade to Assault Squads, Tactical Squads, Bike Squads, Veteran Squads and Terminator Squads. They could hypothetically replace the Sergeant to stop too many characters being around for the purposes of challenges, or they could replace regular Marines. Fluff wise it isn't too out of line, as Sangy Priest essentially act as Apothecaries, who in the Vanilla Dex are part of a command squad. This just takes that a step further.

The reason I'm suggesting this is just to simplify Tac Squads in Rhinos being joined by a Sangy Priest (normally I'd have to do a 9 man team joined by a Priest.) This way just saves uneven number.

This way just seems more efficient, and the Blood Chalice could maybe be scaled back a bit to only work on the squad he is in, rather than the bubble effect, giving justification for the significant price drop I'm praying for. Love my Sangy Priests.

In addition, Corbulo could perhaps become his own Elites choice, or go back to HQ.

What do people think of that idea? Too much of a nerf, or could it maybe be a genuine possibility?

This is basically the chapter tactic that the Red Scorpions have access to, I wouldn't mind it being army wide instead of tactical squad specific (that's how the Scorpions have it, I think). Although, I think the upgrade is free.

Don't like it. Keeping them as ICs gives any squad the option to pick up another veteran swinging a power weapon, which add hurtiness in cc to any BA squad. Making them replace the sergeant hampers the squads ability in cc, especially as you can take an apoc with a claw or sword and a sgt with a fist and select which one to challenge with based on what the other guy has. Having more exceptional cc guys is a good niche for the BA rather than just having everyone being marginally better (SW) or having a ton of cc guys in general (BT)

I'd like to see you be able to take 1 to 10 in one elites slot, like wolf guard. Adding another armory accessing veteran to any squad is pretty powerful if costed right. The FNP is a nice buff too, although obviously not as good as when the book dropped.

Nonsense. The Battle Company box is perfect for filling out your ranks of aspect warriors with a large contingent from the Screaming Baldies shrine.
