Wanted to carry on with my old wraith army and update it to the new edition really.
A few friends have got back into it so i wanted to bring the army back.

Spiritseer - 70

10 wraithguard - 320
5 wraithguard - 160
5 wraithblades - Axe + shield - 160
5 Wraithblades - Swords - 160

Wraithlord - flamers, 2 bright lances - 160
Wraithlord - flamers, 2 Starcannons - 160
Wraithknight - Suncannon + scattershield, scatterlaser - 300

1,490 points.

I would have liked the points to fit D-scythes on a unit, but really cant find them anywhere.
Only option to do that would be to drop the knight and take an avatar + 10 scythe upgrades, but then i lose alot of firepower and my bullet magnet.
Any ideas please?
I usually play against draigo paladins and deathwing most of the time, so tons of TEQ.

If you play against alot of MEQ you want D Scythes. They erase Marines and Terminators. They vanish. Like they never existed. Futhermore they will not charge you. They can't. D3 hits on overwatch.
So the wraithaxes and wraithblades while being cool are hard as a mofo to do anything with being you don't have a transport.
You will need at least 2 more Spiritseers if you are going to play without wave serpents. You will need Voice of Twilight badly.
That allows you to run and shot.
You also don't need 10 men units. Wraithguard are fearless and do not run. Break it up into smaller 5 man units.
If you plan on footslooging consider this.
3 SS 210
2 WG D Scythes 420
2 WG Wraith Cannons 320
1 stock WK 240
1 SunCannon SL WK 300
Should be 1490

Yes you lose shooting with the 2 WL but you gain threat range and assault capabilities. You will be able to move 12" with WK and if you are in range of a SS battle focus then.
Trust me please a WL is awesome as a fire base but if it doesn't come to you. Then you lose any chance of assault.
I know the 3 SS seem like overkill. I play alot of Iyanden style though and getting off a 2 Warp Charge power is a SOB sometimes.
If you aren't infiltrating the Wraithaxes/blades don't even bring them. They will not do anything. I've tried. It takes a stupid opponent to let himself get charged by them.

Distance is never an issue for me

Considering draigo and death wing both drop right to me, they wont engage in a firefight anyway.
So movement isnt always an issue.

From my original list i could drop the blades with sword to free up 160 more (170 total free).
That then pays for D scythes on 5 of the guard with 120 points left.

Enough to throw in another spiritseer and 5 more D-scythes.

So i would have this:

Spiritseer x2
5 wraithguard
5 wraithguard
5 wraithguard with scythes
5 wraithguard with scythes
Wraithlord x2
Wraithknight

that then brings me to dead on 1,500.
Also gives me 10 D-scythes as i really should have them as an auto-include.

The 2 wraithlords have always done well for me as it gives me 2 extra MC's, both with 36" range on them too.

So while i dont need to move alot, that range ensures that if something is about to assault, they can fire a few shots in beforehand.

Also, i really want to try and work with what i have, rather than scrapping the old army and starting fresh.

I do see the point about spiritseers though.

Also, the only other armies i play on a regular basis are daemons, who lack range again and drop down.
Pod marines who again, drop infront of me.

And then DE from time to time.
Who no matter what i do, will be a pain in the arse!

While i would love transports, it comes out of my spirit theme for the army.

I also need to pick up the Iyanden book as it could be alot of use to me.

Also, thanks for the C&C
