Hello Dakkadakka !!

So i play mostly a mix of deathwing and Ravenwing, something that works pretty well against most armies. But in my last game i faced a full droppod Space Wolves list, i won but it was a very tight game. I usually do the DWA on turn two, using the bikes on turn one to place the homer in the right place, but this only work if you have some opponent on the board.

My two bike squads were obliterated on first turn by the first two drop pods, and they had nowhere to hide anyways.

So what would you do if you have to go first ? outflank all the bikes and risk a failed reserve roll and having the homers not where you want them ? Deathwing assault on turn one without the homers and pray you don't lose all your termies to the incoming fire from the first droppod units ? Not using the DWA and footslogging the termies instead ?

I will face this list again, and i already made some changes to my list accordingly, but still it was a bit confusing for me when i deployed

The worst that can happen to a DP list is a null deploy. If you win the roll then null deploy and go second with the DW assault on bottom of turn 1.
If he wins the roll deploy the bikes well spread and the less dangerous ranged termies (assault cannons against that list), while keeping in a turn one DW assault the plasma/missile termies. He will go first to avoid you spreading too much (pods hate when that happens). The idea is to bait him into taking shots at the termies while keeping the threat of a turn 1 termie assault (and DW termies hurt).

What HQ are you using?

Yeah it was a mistake packing all my bikes in the same spot.

So like i thought , first turn DWA, thanks for the advice!!

I'm using Belial and a bike librarian withe PFG running with a RWCS with BoF.

Then you are gold, Belial is the best one at this. Your most dangerous termi squad will be where you want it.
