Now that the new codex is here and PAGKs took a beating with the Psycannon nerf to salvo and Halberd nerf to I4 S5, I am wondering whether we need to reconsider the use of these units.

I used to run a 5 man Purgator squad with 4 Psycannons inside a Rhino - driving up to a decent LoS position and firing forth 4 S7 AP4 rending shots all the way, supported by another 4 S5 AP5 psybolt stormbolter shots (rhino's + extra pintle mounted). When it was safe to disembark, I would do that and then next turn rain 16 S7 AP4 rending shots followed by 4 S5 AP5 shots from the rhino, if it was still around.

Now that the effective range of Psycannons on the move is only 12", that tactic is out of the question.

Do you think this has made 4 incinerator purgators more lucrative? Or will you stop using Purgators altogether because we only have 2 HS slots now and Dreadknights have become better?

And how is it with massed Psilencer fire? Do they become worth their weight in gold when you start stacking them, i.e. 4 of them on a purgator squad? I havent done the math but wouldnt a fusillade of them one-hit kill any MC? Should be able to cause 0.88 wounds on a T6 3+ sv MC

What about Interceptors and purifiers? Are they better picks?

Well, Interceptors are certainly a decent choice.
Its a fast moving unit and with two incinerators they should be able to reach it juciest target in turn one or two.

A Drop Pod from SW allies would be a good delivery mechanism for Purifiers and Purgators.

Purifiers could also ride in Rhinos. A few of them close to each other could do some serious damage thanks to their nova power (cleansing flame).

Just my 2 cents.
