Does anyone have a good way to mark which model has which special equipment?

Especially that that's not modeled, or models with similar profile have side different equipment (like, they both have rifles, but one has a DEP, the other has mines, or something.)

I understand a lot of this doesn't need to be WYSIWYG (do AP mines look any different from Viral Mines?), but it would be nice to keep things straight on the battlefield.

I'm thinking of using some stickers or something (http://bit.ly/W6J2lo or such) to color code with my army list -- which would hopefully help remind me that I have all these tricks besides the gun the figure is carrying.

If anyone has any creative solutions, I'd love to hear them!

What about just doing like blood bowl & numbering the base? Then assign that corresponding # on the roster to the profile you want for that model?

you could print out little stat cards with a picture of the model and it's equipment. As long as you don't have two of the same model that shouldn't be a problem.

Have your list next to you, and remember what each model is. If you need to, write on your printed list if it's not an obvious model (so, if I had a Muyib with DEP model representing a Panzerfaust model, I'd write something next to the Panzerfaust profile to remind me it's the model with the DEP).

I'm painting a colored ring on the bottom of the base. Different colors for individual minis.

I either slightly convert models (e.g. two Tokusetsu Butai - one is standard, the other has head swapped for a Guifeng's), and if that's inconvenient, model bases differently so I can just write "Shrouded combi 1 - metal junk on base" on my army list and that's it. And no one knows I'm marking units unless I show them

I try to have representative models.

Failing that, the various army lists manage to print a way that keeps track of expendables like mines, deployable repeaters. Limited shot weapons tend to get used in link teams (for me) so they tend to blow their loads in one shot.

Otherwise, I just try to keeo track of what's what. That just usually means that I have X grunts with the same profile, though

You're right -- but keeping track of which profile goes to which model sometimes is hard, especially when said piece of equipment isn't easily distinguishable on the model. ("This Muyib has viral mines, and this one has an E/Mauler!")

Lots of good ideas here --doing some kind of base marking seems easiest and most flexible.

Oh, that one's easy to keep track of.

No-one ever takes the Muyib with E/Mauler.

Keep a printout list next to you, and just write down beside the models. Muyib with Viral Mines being represented by the Muyib with rifle? Write Rifle next to it. E/Mauler on the DEP guy. Write DEP next to it. Panzerfaust on the LGL model, write Panzerfaust next to it.

The pen is mightier than memory.
