Some other Suggestions.
Historical kits. Look for 1/48 scale for most things but some smaller 1/35 scale stuff will work. Academy and Kitech have lines of 1/48 almost-modern (90's) Battle tanks and APC's that can be sci-fi'ed up and they typically go for only about $15 shipped on ebay. If you go the way of a 28mm WW2 game like Bolt Action, you'll find that 1/48 models aren't much different in size than the 1/56 scale models that Warlord and other wargame companies sell.
-Pig Iron. A small line of nice big sci-fi tanks. Basically the same hull available in MBT, AFV and APC versions.
-Atenociti's workshop. Really pretty sci-fi vehicles.
-Khurasan- Some really sweet not-Aliens-APCs and a similar scout vehcile that's quite nice. A few other vehicles as well,
IIRC.
-Old Crow models. These guys appear and disappear periodically, but when they're active, they make some very nice quality sci-fi armor, vehicles, and even a VTOL.
-Armorcast Sci-fi vehicles are still in production. The tank design is a bit dated but looks nice in person.
None of the above have a game associated with them, but most of the best 28mm tank kit's don't. Your best bet is to run them in a generic sci-fi combat game like Tomorrow's War or similar set of rules or proxy them, either in for existing models in a ruleset like Warpath which has rules for vehicles in the game, but no models for those vehicles yet.

Apoc vehicles for their game "Nuclear Renaissance" that line includes some military vehicles. Also, all the bits for their vehicles can be ordered separately and if you ask nicely, he will switch out parts for vehicles if you want different wheels or a different turret or somesuch.
For companies making
40k proxies, there's Secret Weapon Minaitures and a couple others that make vehicles that are the same size and armament as
40k armor. Some look distinctly
40k, and some have a less grimdark look that would be fine in other sci-fi settings.

Kryomek (another game from back then with a human force (The Nexus Federation) v the alien hive creatures (the kryomek) - 28mm but it had tanks and walkers and 28mm infantry.
Void. Another 90s miniature game, 28mm but more skirmish scale. Even had dinosaurs with guns.
Stuff from WZ (1st and 2nd editions) is still available from Prince August miniatures. It also had a kickstarter or some other form of resurrection recently - and is essentially a reboot.
Stuff ffrom the latter two are still available from Scotia grendel.
All very good lines. One minor correction. Void and Kryomek are available from Scotial Grendel. Warzone first generation is, as you say from Prince August.
Also, the Kryomek tanks are pretty small, but useable as scout vehicles. The Kryomek walkers are beautiful.
