I'm thinking about buying another Crisis suit to act as a commander for the 3 man Crisis team I currently own, and I'm currently looking at these 2 kits, but I'm unsure regarding the differences.
Apart from the obvious (one is plastic other is resin and the pose) OFC

I assume the Crisis Kit comes with the same bits and options as each of the crisis in the 3 man team (one of each possible weapon apart from the Cyclic Ion Blaster and the Airbursting Fragmentation Launcher), correct?
What about the Commander Kit? Can somebody let me know what weapons&equipment options it contains?

Any other differences I should be aware of?

Thank you!

The new enforcer crisis is a shoulder taller than the regular crisis, the old metal commander is the same size as the regular with commander bits.

The Commander wears different armour (XV8-05 Enforcer) to the standard suits (XV8 Crisis). He also comes with the 2 weapons you mentioned (Cyclic Ion Blaster and Airburst Fragmentation Launcher) and is taller.

What about regular weapons? Does the commander kit still come with one of each?

Also, in regard to height, does that raise any legality issues in tournaments and such if you use a regular crisis model as a commander?

I don't believe it comes with all weapons, but its page of GW's site should tell you what it does have. It is compatible with all standard Crisis weapons and support systems.

Yes, that is completely legal. There is no option for "XV8-05" armour and its purely aesthetic. Also, the Enforcer armour has only been out since the latest Codex (March 2013), and the Tau have been around since 2004 I believe. Most people just use a Crisis Suit with markings or a different paint scheme.

Sadly the Gw page has very little info on box contents, only stating it includes 'a plasma rifle and a psychic ion blaster'.

Hold the god damn phone! I have the WD issue when it was released, silly me! I'll check now for you my friend

Alright, the XV8-05 "Enforcer" Battlesuit Commander comes with an Airburst Fragmentation Launcher, a Cyclonic Ion Blaster and a Plasma Rifle. Any of those can be mounted on the forearms or the shoulders/jetpack as with other XV8s, using the same fittings for the plastic suits. This means any of the other battlesuit weapons or support systems can also be mounted here, and the commander wepaons can be placed on another suit if needed.

If I wear you I would get the old tau commander kit or just a crisis suit with a different paint scheme, the new commander kit lacks weapons as already stated and is in a horrible pose, also being finecast its even more fragile than plastic tau suits already are, and in the off-balance pose he's in you're asking for trouble. The old plastic/metal/finecast hybrid suit looks different enough to differentiate from others but still comes with all the options and support systems available.

Failing that, have you considered the forge world suits?

Agree ^^ Forgeworld suits are the way to go. There are some really unique looking ones. I have several different ones that I usually use for Commanders and/or Shas'Vres.

I will take a look at getting a FW suit in the future. Shas'o R'myr looks pretty good. What are you guys' experiences with that particular model?

For now however I might just stick to a regular Crisis Suit with Shas'o markings, as I plan to make a bigger Fw order later on.

The forearms on the Enforcer suit are a little longer and it has a waist joint. You could easily add such things to the standard XV8 suit with a bit of effort and some bits.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!
