Last friday I got a new laptop, awesome.
But for some reason Dakkadakka logs me out on my pc when I log in on the laptop.
And when I log in on my pc, I'm logged out on the laptop.
Both my machines are Windows 8.1
My laptop uses Chrome-beta and my PC uses the latest alpha-release of Chrome.
I've never had this problem with my HTC M8 with Chrome or with any other website.

Do you have any idea what causes this and is it possible to fix this?
It is really inconvenient, especially since logging in doesn't automatically return you to the last page.

Could you try clearing your cookies on both machines and then letting me know if it still occurs? Also, if you are doing a lot of software updates, it could be logging you out as part of our security system and that should settle down once your machine has gone through all the windows and chrome updates that a new system does.

Perhaps that could be it.
Because it stopped doing that around 5 hours ago, I'll keep an eye on it.
It was just odd that Dakka was the only site that had this.

Thank you.

Are they linked?

My Laptops are linked to my desktops via outlook etc etc.

So if I log into something on one computer outside of other outlook sites, it will log me out on the other.

It does this for other sites too. Maybe thats the case for you also.

I've been having a somewhat similar issue with my Asus tablet the last week or so.

I keep randomly getting logged out and I can't figure out why. It seems to happen most often when I open up a whole mess of Dakka related tabs at once. Some of them will have me logged in some of them wont.

Have you cleared cache and cookies?

Of course. First things I did after It happened a few times. (You must get sick of writing that same sentence over and over)

I'm actually timing my Dakka usage to see if it logs me out after a certain time period. And I'm counting how many page changes I go through before it logs me out. I don't know if either of these things could have any baring on the issue though.

If anything is changing your user agent on the tablet from tab to tab then that might log you out. Using a proxy server (either voluntarily or at your ISP) can do the same, as can having a rotating IP address on a mobile device.

I constantly get logged out of Dakka when I use another computer. If I change to my wife's PC, I'll get logged out of mine. Same deal with my laptop or surface, and my work laptop.

Click logout on every machine, then login again. Are you choosing the 'remember me' option as well? If you dont, it will log you out when you change machines, and if you leave it logged in and open browsers on 2 machines at once that can confuse things a bit too.
