I am just wondering what people used to kit bash a Space Marine Command squad to have Grav Guns, and Storm Shields as well as kit bash an Apothecary on there and a Librarian on a bike with a Storm Shield as well? Is it easier and cheaper to buy the Bikes then go to places like ebay to find all the bits like Grav Guns, the SS, a Narthecium and then get some Librarian bits? Or would I be able to buy multiple kits to get everything I need? For the Librarian, I was thinking of just cutting one in half and sticking him on a bike but I was also thinking of having to buy 6 bikes, the command squad and bash that way but I don't think the Command Squad comes with the bits I need to make this squad happen.

Try the FW Boarding Assault upgrade kit. Comes with Graviton guns and 5 riot-shield style shields.

The Shields are perfect but it seems that it only comes with one grav gun. I would love to do the shields but I was also kind of wanting them to Captain America their shields and put them on their handle bars instead of having them be carried but I may do that instead because I have always liked the look of the Boarding Shields anyway. That would mean I would need to find a couple more Grav guns but I think I have one in my my Tactical Squad kit that I never used so that means I would need 2 more and be set.

The only GW kits to have grav guns are the tactical and sternguard squads. Plus any bundles that include them (like the SM strikeforce with it’s two tac squads) FW, 3rd party, and bits sites are also options.

For power armor scaled SSs, you might want to look at the vanguard veteran box.

Apothecary is only found in the command squad box.

For bikes, the easy option is just to pick up two of the three-packs for $40 each. But you might want to consider looking at the DA range. If you pick up their battleforce, you get 6 bikes, an attack bike and a speeder for $110. You also get 3 of the Ravenwing accessory sprues, which can help spice up your bike squad. One thing on there is a pair of robed biker legs that might help with your librarian conversion. It might be worth asking around your FLGS (or checking bits sites) for some of the bits from the sprue if you don’t pick them up. There is a lot of DA iconography on the extra sprues, but the bikes themselves are clean, and there is still a chunk of generic biker gear on the RW sprue.

I just found that GW sells an upgrade kit to have SM have SS with Thunderhammers for $20, maybe not the best way to get them but that is there. I also forgot that I have GK bits that I can use to make the Librarian and Apothecary.

I think the Grav Guns are the hardest to find and will have to go 3rd party to find any separate along with the arms which is fine, I probably save money that way.

well the GK apothecary bits are for terminator sized models, and IIRC those TH&SS blisters are metal/finecast of the OOP sculpt, so I wouldnt really bother with them

To start you probably wana scavang the ravenwing command kit

gives you a sick apothecary and you can get the legs with cloak to make a librarian.

as for shields you will probably end up scratching it your self if you want something specific. or just go with a combat shield or the SS off a vanguard vet squad box.

Grav guns from forgeworld is ok.

Edit: Im assuming you dont want dark angels though so you will probably need to use ebay bits sites. (the command bits are relatively cheap)
I think the easiest thing to do is
2x 3 man bike squads
1x ravenwing command squad
1x DV librarian
1x forgeworld gravguns (or shell out for plastics)
various arm bits (as you will need arms to actually hold the guns) and the SS off ebay

That gives you a 5man command squad with an apothecary, 2 unique wingy bikes for the lib and CM and an extra bike to mess with or pawn off.

Edit: Not sure if the RW bikes come with just bolters so might wana look into it first

Which means they'd be Terminator-sized as well. The normal Space Wolf Pack boxes have power armor-sized storm shields, but they're square and have that big honking SW iconography on them example (not my work).

Thunderwolf Calvary boxes have round storm shields (example, also not my work), but there's even more work to be done on the shields themselves. On the plus side, the cavalry shields are designed to just glue onto a fist, so you can put them pretty much anywhere on the model.

I couldn't find any grav guns from Forgeworld when I looked. Melta, plasma, flamer and all manner of boltguns, but no grav (other than the single boarding assault)

There is an Apocathery kit from FW, and I think it looks pretty nice.

Well, there's a slight risk of gluing something together with it. Only slight, mind.

and this is the GW power armour TH&SS kit I think he's talking about (not the old terminator TH&SS)

I bought the Ravenwing battleforce set, and built the bikes without using the RW sprues. I just used the robed bodies and hooded head for the robed bosdies as well for my librarians. I slapped on the big book on the bikes to show it is the librarian. The storm shield i got from the Vanguard vet box set, or bit store them. I was going to buy the bits witht he thunder hammer and stormshield, and just positiont he shield in front of the bike, or on the back of the rider, but i rather have them hodling on to it. The grav gun I have off to the side or the riders holding it. I got the grav guns from the new strike force box, and new tact squad. The apotecary bits is also in the strike squad box. I sold what i had remaining

I think what makes me most hesitant about buying the Ravenwing Battleforce is there are a lot of things in the kit I wouldn't use so I see it almost as a waste of money which is why I would rather lean a little more to buying just the normal bikes. I have a good amount of GK bits I can use to make a stylized Librarian.

I think right now the hardest thing to get on the model is an Apothecary in Power Armor which I think you can only really get by buying the actual command squad which I might end up doing in order to get arm bits as well as the Apothecary bits. I will have to look into it and see what I can get off eBay and the like but I definitely appreciate all the suggestions.

Personally, I would bitz order the Ravenwing Apothecary. The individual parts are far cooler than the standard apothecary and you really just have to swap the shoulderpad for a blank.

Thanks, I guess I was looking in the completely wrong place for the grav guns.
