the first is a rat rod. a hot rod made from junk with a fat ass engine. the other is an eldar falcon tank. ive never been interested in eldar because they look like pansies and their gear is far too high tech for me. i love rat vehicles, but i'm also not really interested in orks, so when i was choosing the vehicle i wanted to rat up i decided to tear up the rulebook and go with the least mechanical/badass engined machine i could find. this blog will show the progress of the race diorama i'm working on with these vehicles.

Heres the start i made. Got a cheap falcon from ebay, stripped all the fancy hi tech crap off it, gave it a healthy dose of rust, used salt method to lay down a matt black primer looking finish, then liquid mask for the flames. The panel sign was a personal touch as i love the old things painted on old trucks, and one of my other hobbies is pinstriping/signwriting. The V8 is one of two that will protrude from the jet intakes to power the grav jets

You don’t often see rust and and the chop-shop treatment on the sleek and graceful Eldar hovertanks. This should be interesting to watch come together.

yeah man. i saw some weathered grav tanks and the thought just came to me. i plan to have it racing a more traditional car style rat rod in a dynamic post apoc mad max race scene.

So tonight i converted some crew members for the falcon. The eldar pilots had the kind of slick back greaser hair i wanted, but their silly goggles and hi tech flight suits meant i needed to craft my own. These are the results. 2 1950s style greaser speed freaks.

Im gonna keep on truckin. Tonight i made the upper turret part of the falcon. My inspiration was the old cranes you sometimes see on the back of wagons, jcb cabs and the bomb disposal robots. The crew members are painted up. I used water effect on the hair to make it look super slick

Theyre not ork heads, theyre from the crypt ghoul box. I use em on everything cos i have loads spare
