Subject: Melta rule and Turbo-Penetrator vs. buildings

Hi, just to make sure I got this right: the Melta rule and Turbo-Penetrator ammo only mention vehicles explicitly. So this means they do not work or get their extra benefit against buildings, right?
Just wondering, since I more and more use buildings and get the impression they have quite some advantages. I'll try out one of the building formations soon, to get even more AV14 on the table... might even be kinda imbalanced if those special rules do not work. Don't have the BRB at hand right now, but how is the Lance rule phrased?

The rule for buildings tells you when attacking them you "treat the building as a vehicle unless specifically stated otherwise.".
So Melta / Armourbane / Lance etc. all work against buildings.

Thanks, I missed this passage. The new building rules are not really well structured I find.

Does that mean Imperial Fist Devs have a reroll to pen and a +1 on the table in your opinion?

The few words prior to that quote was: ... affected by a special rule , treat the building as a vehicle unless specifically stated otherwise. If it is listed as a Special Rule, it is triple bound to treating the Building like a Vehicle.

8th made it so I can no longer sway Tau onto the side of Chaos, but they will eventually turn aside from their idea of the Greater Good to embrace the Greatest of pleasures. |

Yes, because buildings = vehicles unless otherwise stated. Its not otherwise stated in this case, so it works.

No:
They get a re-roll, as the rule provides two separate benefits - the first is Tank Hunters, which works on either vehicles or buildings.
The second benefit is the +1 to the Building Damage table. You treat buildings as vehicles but you do not treat vehicles as buildings ( all pears are fruit but all fruit aren't pears), the Vehicle Damage table and the Building Damage table are different things.

To be clear, I meant if they shoot at a building to get both buffs.
So reroll vs vehicles. Reroll and +1 vs buildings.

Wait you mean a legion that is an expert at destroying buildings has rules that make it good at destroying buildings?
This game is so broken.
