He is named after/supposed to be a mortal/immortal hero, the size works perfectly. He also fits in a lot better than he used to.
I much like both his face and poses. I'm not sure if it is really modeled after Brad Pitt as it just looks like a blonde hero, but the modeling is great. I personally like parody characters as I am a huge movie fan (what made zombicide so attractive).
I have ordered two sets! Keep up the good work CB, looks like I am starting a new army now

I find that I like much of the anime-influence models *and* the harder scifi look as well. Not that really awkwardly posed Aleph lady though, gawd.
Achilles 2.0 seems pretty awesome actually. I like the photo, he's all "Hey I got a head of one of your guys, what now" and the Legate is like "Shrug, we've got an entire *race* of those, so good luck with that". I still need to source a proper light saber for the Legate, he really *needs* one.

I actually think the Chimera is a very pretty model, it's just that I'm biased against any anime furry as I find the concept appalling. xD

The Chimera is one of the best minis out there. All the pupniks are great.
The lollipop is good because its a POSE. Something CB has missed recently. Everything doesn't need to be tough as nails troops.
The new Nomads releases have been such hardcore PMO stuff.
I hope at least one of the new TAGs coming out has a cool anime look to it, not some static wooden robot like all the others we've seen recently. Any new rendition of the Szalamandra will have a high bar set because that's a tremendous mini already.

I get that. Bakunin is home to all things ridiculous.
However, I don't mean the cheesey stuff we usually see in Bakunin. For example, the antennae on the new mobile brigada; a nice touch.
I hope any new Spektre or Zeroes on the way have more character in their poses (new land mine Spektre is OK at best) because the models they'd be replacing are classics of the Infinity range.
I liked some of the oddball stuff in the older Nomad minis. Like the sniper Alguacil with a little critter on her shoulder; awesome stuff.
The Szalamandra, a rather serious model, ought to have that same anime aesthetic to it if/when they update it.

Completely agree. There are so many generic sci-fi models out there, but the anime aesthetic is what made Infinity stand out for me. The examples posted above [Daktari, Chimera] are some of my favourite models, as well as things like Krazy Koalas and Fast Pandas. Hopefully CB continues to not take itself too seriously. I remember with fondness the days when GW used to have a sense of humour [before it all went GRIMDARK].

This is where I point out to all you newcomers that the Catgirl Daktari mini is Corvus Belli's all time best selling miniature, or was for a long time. I do not know if it retains the top spot anymore. The anime influences are not going away, because those minis sell well.
The lollipop moderator is the best of the moderators, IMHO. If/when the Moderators get resculpts, I do hope CB keeps that mini. All it really needs is a proper sized gun. Or keep the gun size the same, and enlarge the mini ( The more likely outcome, eh?)
Still no rumors about this months releases apart from something Morat?

Anime is undoubtedly a big part of the Infinity DNA; robot suits and off-tangent weirdness all included. We're going to keep getting miniatures like that, just how it is. In the same way that 40k would be unthinkable without shoulder pads and screaming bald men
Agree that the Chimera + Pupniks are one of the coolest sets CB has released, so much character in each mini and great fun to paint even if you don't collect Nomads.

Putting it bluntly, that was something I always questioned.
What is a "best selling miniature" if it doesn't actually sell for the miniature game you promote/sell? It was a one-off curiosity that would show up often in people's painting collections as "anime sexy catgirl" or something like that.

Those are some weirdly shaped goalposts.
Best selling is quite simple - it sold the most units. Why it was best selling is hard to pin down because you don't fill out a survey every time you buy a miniature.

Is it really that strange though?
If you're going to let those kinds of things affect what you do for your aesthetic designs and the like, it is something that should have attention paid to it.

Did it affect their aesthetic? Recently it's moved in entirely the opposite direction. Cheesecake and anime influences have almost disappeared. Even after they announced it, the aesthetic didn't take a marked shift towards anime chessecake, not any more than it already was at the time.
However, all CB did was say it was their top selling miniature. I don't recall them ever saying they knew why, or that it would help them direct the rest of the ranges aesthetic. it was just something on a slide at gencon telling people it was their best seller. The community are the ones that started attributing reasons to it.

I'd say the Brigadas went the exact opposite direction. They went from being extremely generic to full on anime. And you can't tell me that you don't get an anime vibe from the Azra'il? Or stuff like the recent Batroids? The influence is still there, just a bit more toned down and less obvious, is all. And remember, not all anime stuff looks like Astroboy, or Pokemon, or Appleseed. Look at the two most recent Gundam shows. The mecha designs have been very different from their norm. My point is, the anime influence is still present, they're probably just getting their influence from more modern stuff as opposed to the 80s sci-fi anime they'd been using before.
But, this is all getting pretty off topic, isn't it?

This. Anime is a medium, not a genre. The variety you can see in it is as big as you can see in mainstream cinema.
If you look for it, that is.

The original metal Guija was essentially a 80's/90's style Appleseed Landmate. (To the point where people will refer to that as the Landmate Guija...)
Look here: http://appleseed.wikia.com/wiki/Landmates
Then do a Google Image search for "Infinity Guija".

I personally think Infinity is becoming more popular because they are reaching out into other 'genres' for aesthetics and influence besides the easier to understand rules.
They have made the minis more realistic and less cartoony/anime (I think most players would rather have a Van Zant or Achilles as they are now compared to their previous anime style). They have thrown in some characters that have parody type appeal for other genres/games/movies. The quality has escalated greatly due to the realistic approach and style.
Nothing wrong with anime or the style, but it does limit the market greatly. If you expand your horizons, you expand your sales base (which they have done).

Oh, you guys
I had to go looking at the official forums for this, since no one has posted it here ( That I could find. it could be hidden among all the chit-chat.) First time I've looked there since October, and first time I've glanced at one of those infernal speculation threads in ages. I'm cursing the lot of you. May you always roll '20's ( unless you are playing an RPG. Then roll '1's.)
Ariadna - Desperados
CA - Oznat with vulkan shotgun
Haqq - Govads
Yu-Jing - Hac Tao hacker
PanO - something no details
No idea about the accuracy of it. Wondering about the Govads, naturally. 'Twould be nice if the Pan-O was something for ASA.
