It's been years since I've made up an army list and I've never actually played Chaos before. This is my first go at a Death Guard army. I would appreciate any commentary! This list uses models I actually own, so I don't have a lot of room to swap things out just yet, but any advice you could give would help me a lot as I grow this army! I'm not going for a super competitive list at the moment - just trying to get 7th edition under my belt a little. Once I have a good grasp of how this army works I'll consider adding to make it a little more competitive. I'll only be playing with a few friends as i get things started.
Typhus - 230 pts
Daemon Prince of Nurgle - 220 pts
wings and power armor
Plague Zombies x 35 - 150 pts
Plague Marines x 7 - 248 pts
2 plasma guns, champ w/ power weapon, rhino
Terminators x 5 - 257 pts
2 power fists, 2 chainfists, 1 combimelta, 1 combiflamer, pair of lighting claws, heavy flamer, mark of Nurgle
Chaos Spawn x 3 - 108 pts
MoN
Obliterators x 3
MoN
Comes out to 1,441 pts. Not sure what to fill the rest of the list with. My biggest question is how to equip my Terminators to make them general hitters. I bought the lovely Forge World upgrade kit and I don't want to waste the awesome models on crappy or redundant weapons loadouts - so I want to maximize the purchase with efficency on the table top. I plan on using them as Typhus' body guards. When I graduate to larger games I may give them a Land Raider, but for now they'll be on foot. Other things I have available: more plague marines, plague zombies/cultists, defiler, Helbrute x 3, and Havocs. I will get more options, but I want to keep this list to what I have on hand. Thank you for taking the time to give me your input!

Pin the torso at the shoulders. Drill the arms so you can swap out weapons. The magnets needed for the small holes are too weak n expensive.
Generally. Pow Axe for ap2 to kill TEq. Pow Mual for to swing at initiatives and ap4 for GEq. Pow Sword for ap3 to kill MEq.
All in squad take combi-melta for tank hunting. Combi plasma to kill MC. Could take heav flamer and combi flamers to bbq guards.
But for body guards for Typhus. Just take MoN and keep the pow swords. To get more bodies.

So if I'm using the Termies as guard for Typhus, just use the power weapon load out? Should I just give them the standard load out of combi bolter or throw in a combi melta or combi plasma in there as well?

Hmm.. I hadn't really thought about it. I'm a fresh fish here - I just wanted to use him, hadn't decided how just yet. I guess what is he best at? I'm just looking to get things together enough to play a few games and I'll go from there. Automatically Appended Next Post: What about this for the terminators:
Champion w/ twin LC
Combi-melta and powerfist
Combi flamer and powerfist
combibolter and chainfist
Heavy flamer and power weapon

IMO Typhus goes better advancing with the Plague Zombies and drawing fire. It's a very slow unit, and this is problematic, but Typhus + Terminators runs into an eggs/basket kind of problem.
You can use the zombies as an anvil and the Terminators as a hammer for weaker units. IMO keep them with Power Swords, 1 or 2 Chainfists, and the rest Combiweapons. 3x Combi Melta, 2x Combi Plasma? Something like that.
I sort of think that a Demon Prince is a little bit expensive here...a much cheaper option is a Sorcerer (no mark) on a bike w/ Spell Familiar, Melta Bombs, and 2 additional mastery levels. Then bulk the unit out to 5. This way you've got a fast unit.
One of CSM's biggest advantages these days is speed - Maulerfiends, Spawn, Bikers, and DS'ing Helbrutes all synergize pretty well to make rush lists.

Thanks NuggsTheNinja, that makes sense. So basically get the enemy unit bogged down in the zombie horde and smash into them with the Terminators.
Question, and forgive my ignorance, but what is the difference in power weapons? Is it just a visual thing? The kit only comes with the Power Axes - are they the same thing rules wise? And you don't recommend using either heavy weapon option (flamer or reaper)?
I only threw the Daemon Prince in there because I have one. I've looked at a lot of CSM lists and see a lot of them use Lord and Sorcerers on bikes. The speed obviously makes sense to me. I actually have 6 unassembled Bikers in line to be worked on, but I'm trying to build a core force out of things I have being worked on currently or already finished.
One of the reasons I added the DP is because I don't have a Heldrake and my main opponent, who plays Guard, will be using a Valkyrie. I guess I could just rely on the Aegis to fight against his air units.
Thank you for your input!

I wouldn't be overly concerned with your friend's Valkyrie or Vendetta.
Valks aren't a big threat and Vendettas are made specifically for shooting down MCs and shooting up tanks. You could just ignore them both. The only thing a Vendetta can really threaten is your Terminators, and the only thing a Valkyrie can threaten is your Plague Zombie horde.
The Zombies are cheap as dirt, and the Terminators can DS in a position to mitigate the damage.
