With another wave of GW releases and still no Bretonnia is anyone paranoid that Bretonnia will go the way of the Squats, or become forever neglected like the SOB? Just checking GW Australia, there are currently only 4 Bretonnia Products that one can buy. I know that their is a "leaked image" of a new Bretonnian model, but is this verified? lol

On the other hand, are people afraid that some Bretonnian units will go the way of the Griffon, and have their list entries deleted, rendering models obsolete?

Am I being crazy and Bretonnia is too big to kill? Or is my hysteria justified?

I never understood what GW is waiting for. Everytime I get into a conversation about it so many people claim that they have an old army or can't wait for new plastic kits so they can start a army of cav. It seems to me they'd make money.

I doubt they will go away. I just think they are not like by GW. making them very low priorty.

I often wondered how they will handle the Lance formation when you can have a Mounted Hoard, maybe that is one of the items slowig them down.

Oh. GW will release Brets. They'll just take all the knights out of the book!

They aren't going to just stop producing them. If you look at the fantasy rumours brettonia is supposed to be in the new starter set (whenever that is coming out no one knows lol) with some form of undead army.

I think that they will get released sometime but I wouldn't hold your breath for them.

My GW manager said he saw new Bretonnian models

He said there was a knight that had a sallet with the visor up, and a giant lance. He said that he and his horse were 3x as big as other knight models.

He also said that there would be a lady of the lake model that is coming out of the lake with her arm outstretched.

According to him the rules for the lady makes everyone within 12 inches of her fearless, and everyone that goes up against the knight MUST accept his challenge.

Rumour is 5 days. But then again, Dark Eldar have just been announced.

It seems we might not see any standalone army books released while End Times is ongoing.

Wasn't one of the rumors they'd be rolled into Empire post-End Times?

Ya but then there is this new Chaos End Times thing with new Archeon rules etc so who knows. I don't think any Fantasy will be out with the next release because the new White Dwarf has Dark Eldar cover.
Hopefully they don't roll them into empire...that would suck I like more armies.

Still waiting for a new Skaven book too but not to hopefully of anything for a while. With the end times I did read something about a new plastic Vermin Lord so that may be a part of the End Times whenever they start releasing more.

Thar certainly sounds like Theodore Bruckner to me and sallets aren't Bretonnia style.

I can't see them getting rid of Bretonnia especially since in the new end times release there is two scenarios that involve Bretonnia so they defiantly want to keep it. My guess is that they are going to wait till 9th ed to release the new army book. Maybe that edition will make their cavalry better.
I also would agree that it is likely Theodore. He has a demigriff the size of a monster and giant magic lance.

So now GW is making models that bring their own terrain features onto the board with them? And it's a lake? Great. Now I actually need to read the section of the BRB that deals with water.

Emperor's Eagles (undergoing Chapter reorganization)
Caledonian 95th (undergoing regimental reorganization)
Thousands Sons (undergoing Warband re--- wait, are any of my 40K armies playable?)

There's this tension between whats happening in the books / fluff (ie a significant civil war) and the fact of no new army book for a decade. Then again whether the fluff supports a good thing (as I and the majority of people do) or a bad thing can be only guessed at - the rumours are mounting (knight pun).

You don't need to check the rulebook. All it says is that when water features are on the board, warhammer loses.

Perhaps 9th will get a similar thing to 40k in being able to pay for certain terrain (like bunkers)

(Suspect GW borrowed the idea from fortified companies in FOW)

Let me clarify on what he said about the lady.

He said "coming out of the water". whether that means there is terrain inherent to the model, or if water is coming up and off her, i do not know.

She could be literally coming out of a lake that could be apart of her model. She could also simply have water around her, much like how the spirits are around Nagash in his model.

that is what my local manager told me, i am only repeating what he said.

Will be like that tentacle model in the LotR range, though the lake will be part of the model - flat bit of plastic, an arm and a sword

The number of times I've been lied to by my local GW manager. The current manager (and by manager, I mean the one dude who works there ) is a bit more honest and says "I usually don't know until after the internet knows".

The stores only get their supply half a week before release, and that's usually when it leaks on the internet as well.

Well he went to Dallas to go see what they had on offer. He also went to instruct other managers how to sell product. This store is apparently the number 2 in the world for GW. He said they have microphones and cameras in the shop so they can hear and see what we do and say. Apparently they have like 200 people every weekend watching the store from Nottingham to see why his sales are so high, and how to train new employees.

with all of that i trust him, maybe he has enough clout to see the stuff early?

I'm sorry to say but I think you've been duped. I doubt that they set up cameras and microphones and have 200 people watch him....

Plus wouldn't that go against what was said about the model? If they can hear and see everything he does I'm pretty sure he would get in some do do for saying stuff like that...just my opinion tho haha

There is no way you honestly believe that right? Because that isnt how things work in retail. He sounds like a typical gamer guy who is also going to tell you complete BS like how Gygax never thought Thief should be a class in D&D but he talked him into it. Riiiight buddy. Riiiiight.

GW may or may not release anything for any reason. Their business sense is incredibly odd and rapid. Their 40k decisions make me really question whats is a priority for them besides, well, 40k as a whole. Dont hold your breath for a Bret book but dont give up either.

That all sounds a bit conspiracy theorist to me.

Sure he's not on some kind of hallucinogenic drug?
