Alternative history fans may of heard of the on going series of books and games called A Very British Civil War (VBCW) and I was wondering if there is interest over across the pond to play the game in the USA?

I'm from the future. The future of space

I'm in Canada myself, so there's a bit more interest here as we did have our share of labour clashes, general strikes and socialist scares in the early 20th century, but I have never met someone who actually plays it.

The thing about these niche ideas is that they have to mean something to you and be your project and not be dependent on an existing player base to get going.

Make 2 armies, make some terrain, invite friends over for a game + dinner party and enjoy.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

Well, for the Canadians you've got the revolting Irish in the 19th Century...

Thanks to Osprey interwar rulebook, I have at least heard of VBCW but there is next to nothing in there in terms of context.

The main beef of the VBCW background is in the sourcebooks by Solway Crafts and Miniatures. Not sure how easy they'd be to procure across the pond.

"Do you have a map of the cat?" - Richard Feynman

How to paint Skeletons the way I do if that's something you'd fancy trying.

Also wargames illustrated has done a few articles with VBCW and there are these forums.

I'm gonna have to look into this. I'm a big fan of alt history "historical" games, so it intrigues me.

Anyone got any good ideas/sources for Northern Irish and/or Scottish forces and militia that'd fit? I'm good with anywhere from 15mm-25mm(havin not looked at the rules yet, no idea if it's got a set scale or not).
