They cost almost the same, have a very similar weapon setup. One is a T5 W2 jinkable bike, the other a 10/10/10 2hp skimmer...
I allways feel that the attackbike is abit more durable, land speeders can be brought down by a wet noodle..
What do you think?

Bikes can't deepstrike, can't bring 2 heavy weapons (and speaking of weapons, can't bring heavy flamers, typhon missile launchers and acannons) on a single model and can't flat-out 24' ignoring terrain. They're usually more durable, can fight in mellee and thus, eat overwatch which is sometimes handy. But generally speaking, both have goods and bads.

My problem with speeders are that while they can bring more bang to the table they can also be killed by a wet noodle outright killing it and thus loosing those nice 50-70 points.

Everything can be killed. You're not bringing them all alone, do you? Target saturation ftw.

Ofc not, but when i've deep strike a 2-3 speeders for antihorde (Heavy flamers) or anti tank (MM) they barely last a turn, they get focused on alot. Which is nice in a way (takes the heat of my other models) but I'm searching for a more durable setup, loosing 170p that fast hurts.
I've started to look at attackbikes just because the T5W2, 3+ option...

I must disappoint you, attack bikes are not gona be that much more durable. See, such units are supposed to either not act alone for the threat redundancy or strike the flanks to minimise return fire. Or you're dropping them as bait and expect to loose.

Attack bikes in a bike squad.. Load up the actual bikes with Melta or plasma, 2 Marines and the Sergeant with a Combi,, plenty of wounds, good armor save and a multi-threat unit to be used with the rest of your actual army. Don't send them out on their own and you should see them improve their value as a swift response to nearly everything that can be brought to the table.

I prefer speeders with a long-range weapon loadout, like typhoon missiles + heavy bolter, over attack bikes. I keep the speeder in the 36-48" range band, which keeps it safe from all the small arms fire that can easily bring it down. it's mobile enough to take advantage of cover to block LoS to scary stuff. it's got enough firepower to threaten small hordes and light/medium armor, but it's so small that your opponent will often leave it for later and shoot at scarier units first. and if your speeder does eat an AT round early, well that's a more expensive unit of yours that didn't get shot at that turn
I don't like deep striking my speeders with short ranged weapons because scatter can really screw you and you will *not* survive a turn of close-range shooting. I feel that attack bikes suffer from the same problem, which is that if they are in range to shoot at something they are also in range of return fire that can hurt them. if you're looking for suicide units, there are better choices than attack bikes and speeders.

Added range of speeders weapons in the biggest bonus. Second biggest bonus is the ability to deep strike with short range weapons.
Biggest advantage of bikes is chapter tactics. For example, IF heavy bolter bikes make for good mobile shooting.
