Personally they look to rocky for ss. If you don't mind looking at bitz sites look for the chaos knights or warriors from fantasy

What kind of look do you want them to have? Typical 40k, with skulls etc? Or more of a sci-fi look?

Have a look at those:

The Spartan shield especially allows for a lot of freedom in terms of customisation I think.

Just make a press mould for them.
If your going for Lysanders guards then they (IMO) should have large decorated slab like shields to act as a moving wall.
So those door icons would fit the bill pretty well.

I'm doing the 3rd company so i'm getting a set of rhino doors for the predator anyway, i was thinking about the shieldsi linked plus the big decorated etched brass. Thought that would look cool the puppets of war shields are only £4.44 so i may take a punt. I've never made a press mould though is it is?

Etched brass i meant

£6.99 for 6 blocks and they can be used time and time again.
I picked some up the other day to try.

There is also a guy who sells green stuff at £6 for 12" of it (half GW price)

The plastic clay is simple.
Drop it in a bowl of boiling water for 120 seconds.
Take it out (using a tool or anything to stop you being scolded)

Press it against the surface and let it cool down (or run cold water over it)

After 10 mins its a solid mold and can be re-used as much as you want.

Just mix up some GS and push into it (it wont stick to it, so dont worry)

Let it set then pull it out, or do what i did and press the back against some paper so it comes away from the mould without any damage.

I have been converting jetbike warlocks and needed the chest plate runes, and within about 15-20 mins i now have 10 sets plus 5 heads.

Really is quick and easy to do.
And if you want something different, re-boil the clay and go again.

Cant recommend this stuff highly enough.
Only been using it for 2 days now but it really is amazing stuff and it replicates any small details.

My 1st test was a vampire counts vampire head, in which it copied it perfectly including eyes, fangs, eyebrows etc.

Everyone who converts even in the slightest should have this stuff

Really is good stuff and easy to use.
I have never even used a basic press mold in my life, but you just follow the instructions on the back.

Im now up to making 2 part molds and using GS to form them tonight.

Same principle, but i leave it for 3 hours to start setting then i can remove it and make another one.

I hacked up a warlock so i just had an intact body and head, then from that i have 3 copies already tonight.

The most work you have even with a 2 part is removing excess GS, and thats easy enough with a knife and a file.
