I am stuck with Chao Space Marine... How the hell can I painting it.. I love all of traitior space marine..
My person favourite one is Night Lord have a lighting effect on it armour. But I do not want vampire logo or full squad of blue ultramarine armour.
I want to let other player able to see that my traitior space marine was come from blood angel, ultramarine, salamanders and dark angel.
But they had been in void warp space for short time before their armour become chaos.
Don't know where to start.

First step is to pick a color scheme.
I'd recommend something that you can duplicate reliably and that has good contrast at 36 inches.

Just go with a simple undivided scheme with different bitz to show off where they came from. It's what I done.

Eldarain - that was nice inspiration, I can see dark angel, blood angel and space wolf and many more.
Their shoulder pad are too clear and look like they never saw the war. Heh
Peter, I have found color what I like is iron warrior, boltgun metal and gold metal. And I like night Lord lighting effect using hawk blue and icy blue.
I think maybe a gold go on trim line and use chapter colour go on armour. Ceramic for scratch armour and boltgun metal cross out the chapter logo and imperial logo. Around the boltgun metal there are lighting effect showing a deform from Chao warp.
Hmm.... Any more inspiration?

Iron Warriors are a fun choice, esp when it comes to conversions (lots of cool Ork parts work great). Its also easy to get contrast on a metallic finish without driving yourself bonkers trying to pinpoint detail the trim lines.
Here is an example of an easy to duplicate, high contrast scheme on what (I guess?) would play as Undivided or maybe Nurgle units.

You really aren't limited when it comes to painting Chaos Space Marines. As mentioned, the Red Corsairs are definitely a good idea if you want to go with rogue Space Marines. That way you can mix and match kits from both Space Marines and Chaos Space marines. I believe it was the 3.5 Chaos Codex had a page near the back of the book of Red Corsairs painted as Space Wolves and Crimson Fists. The defining element was the Chaos star painted onto their armor hap hazardously, as though they had recently turned, didn't have time to repaint their armor, and just daubed their new allegiance before battle. I don't recommend painting models this way anymore, but it just gives you an idea of how you can add some variety. Also, the Red Corsairs have one of the most bad ass models available with Huron Blackheart - one of the best sculpts imo. And you don't have to be uniform when painting them, either. As long as you use the main colors (black, red, and brass) you can paint them however you like.

What is best in life? To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women. Grrr. |
