Well hello there, I'm AK-47 and I'm trying to build myself an Aquilla Strongpoint from scratch.
I've built some terrain in the past, even tried to build a warlord titan once, but that was a little over my head, so that project has been terminated.

Onto the build of the Aquilla Strongpoint

First I found some dimensions right here at Dakka, big thanks to 1hadhq.
Other than that I'm relying on pictures found on the interwebz

So I first built the base in the computer giving me this:

After that I tried copying it in 5mm foamboard

After this I don't know what I was thinking..

..but the bunker is on the wrong side as of now.. ah well, at least it's original

As you can probably tell, the small bunker (other than being on the wrong side.. sigh..) is a little too tall as well. I don't think it looks bad, so I think I'll keep her this way.
After the main structure I cut out the outline for the parapet of the main building

Next up will be the 'fans' that surround the main structure.
After that I think most of the big stuff will be done, other than the turret, which I will save for later. Already ordered a few sheets of plastic card to add in more detail, and fill up the gaps. Hopefully this will arrive before Wednesday, so we can keep the progress going.

Thanks for reading, I'll keep you updated

Coming along nicely! Do you somehow print a template from the 3D model, or just take measurements from it?

Paradigm: First of all, thanks. I only used the 3d model for measuring, didn't make any templates

insaniak: Thank you very much sir.

Made some progress today, cut out the 'fins' or what you might call 'em, and glued them on.

After that I was looking at some images and found out that the base of the main structure is thicker at the bottom, so I'm adding some weight to it.

Still lots to be done, hopefully the plastic card will be in the mail tomorrow, so we can start filling some big gaps and add in some detail.

Did get a new hobby knife today and took it for a little spin
Hopefully tomorrow will be more productive

Looking great so far! I was thinking about scratch building some emplacements for a board a buddy and I are building. You have given me a bit of inspiration. Can't wait to see more!
