So I had my first run out with the Dark Eldar yesterday and I was extremely impressed with Scourges.

As such I have put this list together, what do you guys think?

I think this could work quite well. Pretty much everything in the list has anti tank, plenty of poison for mc's, good amounts of ap2 for killing terminators etc. Bit light on obsec but in maelstrom it's not all that important.

What do you dakkaites think? I'll play test it tomorrow but at first glance it looks pretty good.

Where were you intending to put the archon. My brain says stick him with the Fire dragons, as that unit suddenly 'zoink'-ing into existance behind a tank should cause consternation...

My one concern is that at 1850 points you have limited ability to fend off either hordes of light infantry or flyers, and with small numbers of medium infantry, it won't take much fire before you find yourself being handled very roughly indeed.

I don't know. He has spiders and Kabalites with venoms - those are good at horde destruction. You could save your points and just have the archon with haywire skip the blaster or give him something else. But I like the list. Reaver Jetbikes could add something too but would have to lose some of the scourges

I'd perhaps swap in some heat lances on the Scourges. Your main issue is Horde control, followed by AA. So meta depending on it could have real issues or it roll over your opponents.

As you state only 2 ObSec units which puts more pressure on you to wipe units from Objectives and means you have no way to stop ObSec spam armies from racking up VPs in the early game.

However you have plenty of MSU coverage.

Do you deepstrike everything? Than what do you have on the 1st turn on the table? Or does this detachment allow some kind of 1st turn coming?

I only deploy the troops in cover.

Jetbikes, Warriors and Venoms = 6

I reserve the venom btw and deep strike it so effectively it is 6 because they are not together.

Detachment in the DE dex allows 6 fast attack.

They are troop choices, they come with objective secured.

No they do not. ONLY troops in a CAD or AD come with ObSec you can't just mix and match rules from different detachment types. If you're doing that why not just DS the entire army turn 1 using the rules for the Ork Formation in Stormclaw, whilst giving everything Tank Hunter and PE(Marines) from the FBSC?

In a CAD you only get 3 FA slots but you get ObSec on your troops. In RSR you get 6 FA and cover saves on turn 1. Notjing in RSR states you get ObSec on your troops choices so you don't.

Dropping 5 spiders for a crimson hunter would give you quite a bit of air cover your currently lack.
Swapping some scourge to haywire lets you stand off a little better and chip away tanks that you don't want to try and outright blow up with lucky rolls.

Its takes about 10 Warp Spiders for a CH. He's got half his Scourges with Haywire?

Correct me if I am wrong but if you take an Eldar CAD are you not stuck with DE being an AD?

Why would you be stuck with an AD of DE? The only restriction is that you couldn't have an AD of the same faction as your primary. You may have as many CADs or other detachments from as many codexes as you want. So you could have a CAD primary of Eldar, a CAD of DE and an AD of DE if you wanted or on top of that another CAD of say Tyranids.

Then what is the purpose of ADs?

They allow you to take small detachments of armies with only 1 HQ & Troop needed. Though yes the AD is largely useless inmost cases just taking another CAD is more beneficial.

Find points for chainsnares, the ability to tank shock will help a bit with the lack of obsec. I would drop the Archons blaster for the points, maybe give him the parasites kiss with the left over 5pts.
