Hello!
I have an failcast archon model that I want to strip paint from. The sword is frigile on the model, and I heard that scrubing can ruin the model.
Can I use fairy power spray for this work?

I used simple green on a nightbringer model that had a base painting incident (due to finecast). Even that, which is the gentlest stripper, did not remove all of the paint, and still discolored the model and made it really brittle and just weird. I'm sorry but I don't think you have any more options.

It's called failcast for a reason. Multiple reasons really. The thing to do if you need to fix the sword is this:
Paint it with vulcanized rubber. Dissolve the finecast out. Pour in a cheap lead substitute and presto, you have a new one. For extra chuckles, recast it out of old GW lead so it is still tournament legal just like the "spruecron" guys.

buypainted has a video up of him using brake fluid on finecast, though I have never tried it myself

Soak it for a few days in Simple Green and then use a toothbrush?
Edit, nevermind...read that post from the guy that tried it. Wow....imagine using a construction material that reacted negatively so such a gentle cleaner. :/

You could soak it in nail polish remover for a few seconds then the paint should come off with just rubbing it with your fingers. So use some qtips to get it off and if you cant get it all of with a qtip use a toothbrush. Ive done it multiple times and Ive never had any problem. Just be sure to wash it with soap and water right after rubbing the paint off. The only thing is that it does stain the resin a bit but that shouldnt be a big deal since you are painting over it. But if you are a bit uneasy about using acetone then try 91% rubbing alcohol first, it might not work though but then again it depends on the paint you used. It seems to break down every paint that Ive used such as citadel, reaper amd generic acryllics.
