So I'm trying to make a mono dark eldar list that has the tools to deal with just about anything. In perticular though its important that it can deal with ork hoards of 100+ boyz, tripple riptide, imperial knights, and spacemarine bike armies.

HQ
Archon with parasitic kiss( I just had points left over)

Troops
Kabalite warriorsx5 in a raider

Kabalite warriorsx5 in a raider

Kabalite warriorsx5 in a raider

Kabalite warriorsx5 in a raider

Kabalite warriorsx5 in a raider

Elites
Trueborn with 4 blasters in a venom with splinter cannons

Trueborn with 4 blasters in a venom with splinter cannons

Trueborn with 4 blasters in a venom with splinter cannons

Fast attack
Scourge with 4 heywire guns

Scourge with 4 heywire guns

Scourge with 4 heywire guns

Razor wing with dark lances

Razor wing with dark lances

Razor wing

I figure a list like this has the tols to deal with anything thrown at me.
12 heywire shots, 12 blasters, 4 darklances for vehicles. The 4 darklances have skyfire.
12 s6 large blasts for dealing with hoards.
Mountains of poison shots for dealing with monsterous creatures.
21 disintigrator shots for dealing with armor 2+ stuff.

It sounds like a lot of shooting, but I'm sure the paper armor dark eldar choose to wear will make it less impressive on the board.

does the archon have anything besides the parasite's Kiss?
Overall I think it is pretty killy.
It should be mobile enough to stay away from CC stuff. Where is the Archon going? One of the raiders? I do worry about the army picking him off or targeting his raider quickly. Good list overall

Armies
Eldar, Dark Eldar, Harlequins, Eldar Corsairs, Orks, Tyranids, Genestealer Cult, Chaos, Choas Space Marines, Tau, Sisters of Battle, Inquisition, Necrons, Space Marines, Space Wolves, Grey Knights, Imperial Knights, Dark Angels, Imperial Guard, Ad Mech, Knights, Skaven, Sylvaneth

The archon is honistly just a tax. If I could I wouldn't take an HQ. He is just gonna get thown in one of the raiders and eventually give slay the warlord. I only gave him the parasitic kiss becuase I had a few points left over, who knows it might keep him alive. Depending on the match I might leave his unit in reserve to try to keep him from getting killied, and fly on later to capture a backfield objective.

Stick him in reserve and hope he doesn't show up?
The thing that has me worried about running a list like this is Objective secured. You're mobile enough to stay out of the enemies grasp, but you literally have nothing that wants to get close.
Do you think you have enough firepower to shoot the enemy off of every objective you need to take, and shoot off nearby enemies as well?
Spread out objectives as much as you can, it will help; but I'm not convinced a total avoidance no Object-Sec is a good idea.

I'm adding in small units of Incubi to my shooting lists. With rampage, they should be able fairly point effective (70 points for 10 to 13 S4 AP2 attacks on the charge, + transport costs).
I'm also throwing in 5 mandrakes. 60 points for 2+ cover camping an objective deep in my own back field.

I'm definitly hoping that its enough fire power to wipe out squads, and just tubo boost raiders onto empty objectives.

I see what your saying about incubi and mandrakes, but if I took them I would have to get rid of the true born. I'm pretty biased towards the true born honistly. I've had them do some pretty amazing stuff in the past. If I did switch to incubi or mandrakes I would have a lof of extra points that I don't know what I would spend on. My fast attacks, and elites are full. Non of the heavy support stuff excites me, and I feel like I have tons troops already.

If you need an HQ tax, why not just take a single Lhamean? The Court is an HQ choice if no Archon is in the army. A lot less points for an HQ to hide somewhere as well as nabbing 50 more points for someplace else (such as lances on the last razorwing).

This you could even give the Lhamaean her own pimp wagon and be the same points as that Archon giving you an extra Hull. Or upgrades on other stuff. But the Court is the goto option for HQ tax. Archon is basically pointless except for a 2++ to lead normal Eldar Deathstars.

That's a really good idea. The archon with the kiss was 65 so I could replace it with a lhamean in a raider. I'd like to keep the disitigrators on the one razorwing. I'm hoping it will be enough to deal with the occasional flying minsterous creature.

If I take the llhamian then I have no character in the whole army. So I'm pretty sure I could make any of my infantry my warlord.

EDIT actually NM, to each their own run it how you like to, if your opponent allows it whatever.

Why if your opponent allows it? The codex allows it very clearly or are you suggesting we have to get our opponents express permission if we want to take an Archon or a Succubus? The Court is a decent HQ option for a shooty DE list.

It's pretty ambiguous whether you can take a stand alone Court as an HQ slot, sloppy wording on GW's part. http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/jforum.page?module=posts&action=list&topic_id=617875&viewResults=true

Oh come on.... Fling it now, why do you always want to bend the issue or argue the metaphysical subtleties in the wording of a book. Every person who makes a list, you jump on to critique or lend aid, whether it be here or on other armies. However you bend the issue of validity quite often, You know you cant do that with the Archons court deep down inside, you should be ashamed for misleading new people looking for honest criticism on their list construction, lol.

I was trying to avoid some big drawn out discussion, But that's why I edit my first post on this topic, but here we go..... People love to exploit the wording because GW missed a comma or certain punctuation in the wording. Then that leads to certain people writing to GW relentlessly to get clarification as they have nothing better to do then write an article on any little thing they find not perfectly explained... GW then has to face-palm because they can not believe the lack of common sense in some, in which then leads to people crying about how GW hates them and their mom and all their friends...And it one big evil company that has to re-write rules to get more money....

Look at it how you like, But I wouldn't rely on it being valid in any big tournie or possibly campaign....

It is literally what the rules say and lines up with the obvious intent of GW of allowing people to take what they want in their army with little to no restrictions.

Normally I wouldn't jump into this, but I have to say that with the shift to 7th edition I dont think we understand what GW's intent really is. I am pretty sure they never really wanted people dropping 3 empty pods after turn 1 for 105 points just so thier 4 pods filled with killy stuff drops turn one. After seeing that, I honestly cant say that GW's intent was to prevent the court of Archon without an Archon.

There's a nice topic on this on "thedarkcity.net" and the general consensus is that it's allowed. In fact it's worded differently than the command squad from the space marines book. I believe this is intentional. People should check out this link:

I think you missed a opportunity with not turning this into the Formation.

Formation is

Kabalite Raiding Party

1 Archon , WWP , Armour of Misery
1 Court of the Archon ( can be literally 10 points or spend 100 points for 4 medusas Venom

6 Kabalite Warriors ( These can absolutely be true born)

1 Unit of Incubi

1 Unit of Scourges

1 Unit of Hellions

1 Ravager

All units have to take a Ravager or a Venom

So how about something like

Archon , WWP, Armour of Misery , Whatever that stupid item is that increases the turn. Venom

4 Medusae

1 Unit of Incubi

Kabalite Trueborn w/ 2 Haywire Blasters w/ Venom 2 Splinter Cannons X 6

Helions you have to take them but remember 1 more turn for FNP , so they come in turn 2 with Turn 3 results, Turn 4 if you get the Animus Vitae off

1 unit of Scourges w/ Haywire Blasters

Ravager Distintegrator

Give everything Chain Snares

Now take

Real Space Raider Detachment

1 HQ

2 Troops ( Warriors )

6 Fast Attack
Fliers so many goddamn fliers
