OH NOES EVERYONE!!!!! GW's stuff costs alot of money and their new codex's aren't perfect. warhammer is dead! gaming is dead! my life is ruined! im going to go play warmachine, but then doom and gloom that as well when they do different things also.
Seriously, why is it that 60% of the posts I see here now-a-days are doom and gloom? Because changes? Poor balance when it comes to super competitive lists? And I don't want to hear "you cant win unless you blank" because that's not true unless you are a super-competitive power gamer who would rather win then have fun. and the odd thing is, is that most of the doom and gloom I see is just that person's player base's fault. can someone explain why people love to jump to competitive for the state of a game and why there is so much doom and gloom?

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field. |

Codex Imbalance does not affect "Super-Competitive Power Gamers" the most. They were going to pick the most powerful options anyway. It affects the casual gamers the most. Casual gamers tend to go for models and builds that appeal to them on a conceptual and/or aesthetic level rather than their power level meaning that more often than not they build sub-optimal lists. Then, they'll find themselves getting their teeth kicked in on the table top by either more competitive gamers or by other casuals who happened to pick a more powerful build.

Yup, OP is really improving the atmosphere of the forum with this original gem.
If you dislike the content of the forums, then start threads you'd like to see. Complaining about people complaining is not exactly going to make anything better.
Also remember that there are more than just competitive and not competitive gamers. Its a whole wide spectrum that covers everything from the flavour of the month, grey plastic, cheating dude, all the way to the mega fluff bunny that will only play scenarios that fit their army's theme and fluff.
Plenty of people in that spectrum are dissatisfied with the game for many reasons. Prices, poor balance, cutting content, and GW's silly business practices are all issues many of us dislike.
The issue is not as simple as competitive people complaining about balance. If you read through all the threads and understood what people were saying, you'd know that though.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised. |

This thread has no purpose. Don't get me wrong, I think it's stupid when people go into 40k threads to intentionally dissuade people from playing 40k, but why complain about people complaining?
Fact is, 40k is stupid expensive. It's a blast to play and I always have a ton of fun, but half the rules are bananas, the codices are at complete odds in terms of viability, and GW did kill most of the 40k scene. Even if they didn't directly kill it, they've pretty much stopped trying to help it grow.
P.S. WarmaHordes ain't that great. Played it and not impressed

On topic, wouldn't dakka and the hobby be pretty bland without complaining threads, it's a good way rant to fellow gamers.

Post this on every person whining on Doom and gloom then. why is it that i see more posts agreeing with the doom and gloomers on their posts, do people reserve the sarcastic ass-hole comments for ones that have less support in the community?

No, please don't post that anywhere. Its awful in every way.
As to why you see people agreeing on the alleged 'Doom and Gloom' posts, well, maybe if you read them you'd see why.
Being blindly optimistic isn't something I'd support or like to see anywhere.
But hey, its probably just easier to misrepresent everyone who's opinion you disagree with hyperbolic statements making fun of them. That'll surely win people over and see things from your side.
