I've ordered my first Imperial Knight and already did some planning on how to paint it. However, when googling images I can't help but finding the shoulder pads absolutely terrible. I really don't want to use them, they make the IK look like a hunchback.

Has anyone seen some nice alternatives somewhere? I'm thinking of greenstuffing something myself or maybe just leaving the pads off at all.

Any ideas? :/

I don't think the issue is the shoulderpads that give the hunchback look, but rather it's.. erh... neck.. thingy.
The last link shows it exceptionally well.
The bulging on the neck really wonders if the Magaera isn't about to shlurf around looking for a certain "Esmeralda".

I think your best bet is to get some forgeworld Knights and magnetize the weapon options, they are a head taller than the regular Knights.

I like the Magaera pads look quite a bit better. Yes, you're right, the hunchback look comes from the basic posture itself, but for me the original shoulder pads further exacerbate the problem.

Maybe I'll get FW knights, but I'll first play with the regular one as ally for my new Grey Knights army before I decide on getting additional ones for a IK army.
