Say I have Colonel Straken (who has the monster hunter USR) in a CCS. That CCS has a Lascannon team and a MoO. The cool thing is his monster hunter USR spills over to the rest of the squad, so now I have some serious MC hurting potential.

Now what if I purchased a Chimera as DT for them and had them start in the game. BRB says DTs act as part of the unit, doesnt it? E.g. a IC with Scout grants outflank to the unit he joins, and if this unit is inside a DT, that DT also gains outflank. So as long as the squad remains aboard, wouldnt the Chimera's weapons have monster hunter too?

The transport and the unit are ALWAYS separate units except when rolling for reserves - special rules only transfer if they specifically say so (such as Scout and Infiltrate).

If the transport did act as part of the unit it would have to target the same unit when shooting as the embarked unit, and it would have to embark upon itself when the unit did...
