How many pics does a thread need to be classed 'Pic Heavy'? Has no idea what board to ask this on.

Sometimes it depends on the size of the pics- it's a pretty subjective characterization, I don't think there's any set standard. Whatever makes you think "Wow, it takes a lot of scrolling to get through these pics", I guess

Note that you can also use spoiler tags for pics, to compress the post, like in the test image below:
