I thought I heard this mentioned in one of the BoW videos. Can Infinity be played with three players? For example with two reactive players each turn. Has anyone tried this? Or can anyone think of a reason why it wouldn't work?
However, a word of warning: I've seen some people fall into having Player #3 AROing to Player #2 who's AROing to Player #1... don't do this, it's a mess.
You ARO to the active model only, you don't ARO to AROs.
Done this several times, it's perfectly possible but like so many other games what usually happens when you have 1v1v1, is that two people wipe each other out and the third (usually the most sly/devious of the group) then moves in to finish off the shattered remains of the surviving player. Although, you can mitigate this to an extent by having some kind of scenario that encourages aggressive play (reach a computer terminal in the centre of the board etc.)
I'm actually writing (almost finished!) a set of rules for Infinity called 'The third man', which is a way to introduce gamesmaster elements to Infinity. Essentially, two players have their game as normal with set objectives, a 3rd player takes the role of a gamesmaster and 'neutral phase' whereby civilians are controlled (it takes place in a city area) and local security forces move in on the warring factions - think of the video game GTA where, if you're familiar, a 'tracker' builds up with points depending on actions on the board (civilians killed, vehicles destroyed, explosive weaponry used) - this starts off as local rent-a-cops, but then moves on eventually to SWAT type response teams, and even a police TAG and air vehicle. So, you've got the two Infinity teams trying to carry out their objective (kidnap a scientist, steal something etc.) but depending on how they carry it out it can be made harder or even impossible.
I'm just finishing painting up the last of the miniatures for this and trying to do some photos for the document, I'll post it on Dakka when its done for feedback (hopefully should be within the next month or so).
The only issue I can see would be the potential for double AROs, which makes it more dangerous for all involved. But then that would serve to make the 3-way fight more intense and lethal, and everyone has the same risk so it's not imbalanced.
Pacific, I love the idea of having badly trained, minimum wage mall cops getting in the way of a pair of hard-as-nails strike teams and realising they're completely out of their depth. Hilariy could ensue!

This sounds amazing. It also reminds me a lot of the old Syndicate game from bullfrog. That had mechanism where you could conceal your gun around civilians and blend in, which would make you less noticeable to guards and police drones. Sometimes they would even kill enemy agents who were being less discreet than you.
