Wherev’ the dark figure comes from,
When the harvest moon fills the sky,
His bones and mangy steed return,
the Black Kiwi makes one last ride.
~ “The Legend of the Black Rider“ by an unknown rhapsodist.

Originally released for a limited time during Halloween of 2012, The Black Kiwi rides once again! Not only are we re-releasing the miniature, we are also including a stat card to make it playable in Endless: Fantasy Tactics along with a Halloween themed scenario. Already own a Black Kiwi? We got you covered, you can order the new card directly from WargameVault.

I'm gonna take a guess here, limited edition resin re-release of the black kiwi with crossover DLC challenges for ETF. Only a few days to find out...

On a related note I really feel like a chump for not picking up the BK last time it was available since it was a real nice mini.

Visiting Hours is tomorrow... There might be a hint there.

Maybe.

Might also be a hint in one of the other threads...

TBH I haven't read every page of the visiting hours blog/thread in a while but I'll give it a thorough look over later.

I remember reading about the rework on brushfire coming up last time, good to hear everythings moving along still at OLG.

We're at the 'Fighting with the printer' stage. Hopefully we'll have an actual update on that soon.

Only 5 days till Halloween...

Of course we might be inclined to give out some treats earlier if say the OTLG Facebook page passed 500 Likes, and the EFT page passed 250...

I think this is right, based on the above pic showing the Kiwi on an Endless board.

I have to say, the black kiwi is probably the best Brushfire model - way better than the regular kiwis! Looks like a good fit for Endless, too, if you ask me

I also think that Endless is the better path forward because fewer miniatures are required to play, befitting a resin line. I think this is a very good move to make the black kiwi a crossover, if true. The geomancer terrain could also enable more people to actually play Endless, which is another great step in the right direction!

@RiTides
I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't just a possible preview of the Black Kiwi in Endless but also a sneaky hint towards
possible cavalry/mounted units coming into the game, it does seem a bit weird to me to create that custom base for
only one mini.

Fully agree with you about fewer minis being a better path overall, the one thing that turned me off ever playing brushfire
was the size of the armies needed to play Vandalands, if they were plastic minis fine but all metal I just couldn't bring myself
to. The bigger shame is I quite liked the rules, I thought the army building mechanic was superb and I loved the HQ upgrade
table, give that to me in say a Mordheim sized game and I'd throw all the monies at it.

I don't know if I'd say its the best BF model, but its definitely one of the best.

Aye, thats a big part of the plan. I'm really looking forward to being able to sell the Geomancer boards.

The Black Kiwi is definately a cool model I like the regular kiwi too (not so much their shrew riders) and think they could fit in Endless fluff as an alternate mount/pack/farm animal. Hmm, kiwi omelettes... rotisserie kiwi... it could work We already have the Kirin, but they read to be far from ubiquitous in the EFT world.

Any crossover rules would be great. At first I thought it would be a long shot, but now...

The resin Kiwi is a cool model... The original metal Kiwi's not so much...

Don't pay too much worry about resin products being 'Out of Stock'. Since all of the resin stuff is done in house we can get it casted pretty quick. (Especially with all of the Kiwis we gotta cast now.)

Its only when a print product is OoS that it might be a few weeks of wait.

So go ahead and order a horde of Risen Warriors.
