Topher Grace, who is perhaps best known for his role in That '70s Show, once re-cut the new Star Wars trilogy into a single 85-minute film as an experiment to see if he could make the newer films a bit easier to watch. The result has only been shown once, as far as we know, but now you can watch a similar edit of the trilogy online.
This is Turn to the Dark Side: Episode 3.1. It comes in at over two hours, a much longer cut than what Grace is said to have created, but it jettisons much of the worst parts of the films in favor of a faster pace and a more compact story. It's not altogether successful, as there's only so much you can do with the material, but it's an interesting experiment for Star Wars fans.
Give it a watch while you can, you could argue this is a transformative work, but it likely won't be online for long.

Lol. They cut out all but 2 minutes of Phantom Menace.

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

personally I'd rather watch episode 1 than 2. I actually didnt buy 2... still need to. Although I'm young enough that I enjoyed both original trilogy and new one
are you going to keep talking about it, or do something already?
I thought the Phantom Menace was the better of the three. Liam Neeson makes everything better, Jake Lloyd was perfect, Darth Maul with double ended lightsaber was badass. If it wasn't for Jar Jar Binks and the Gungans and droids, and the boarderline racist... every computer generated character... It probably would have been alright.
I think there was still hope for the prequels being good after Phantom Menace. Hayden Christensen's crybaby Darth Vader is what really killed all hope for me.
I agree that Phantom was better than Clone, mainly due to the lack of Hayden Christensen and the presence of Liam Neeson. The battle with Maul (in fact, all the scenes with Maul) is awesome, the podrace is entertaining enough, and there's only a minimal amount of soppy romantic sub-plot. Attack of the Clones suffers from too much of the latter, other than that it's ok, but all the Naboo stuff is just dead time really.
The biggest tragedy with Phantom Menace was the waste of potential, killing off Maul and Qui-gon in the first movie. If they'd kept Maul as the persistent threat throughout the prequels, and had him become Obi-wan's nemesis to the point that the latter almost abandons the Jedi ideals to beat him, that could be awesome. And yes, that is from Clone Wars, just one reason why that series is awesome!
EDIT: Damn, I was going to watch this, but it looks like the video is down now.
